My husband took a job in Malta, NY so we will be moving and would like advise on if Albany or Seratoga Springs has better opportunities/wages and how cost of living is? Anyone know wages? I am thinking of working for a travel company so I can see what I like. I have 3 years acute care experience, ACLS abd PALS certified. Do not have a BSN. Any info on the areas would be very helpful!!

I worked in Poughkeepsie for a while and the starting wages ae between 25-28 at 2 separate, but nearby hospitals. I had a friend who worked at Albany Med, made something in the low 20s, dont know anything else about it tho.

I checked out the work situation in Saratoga Springs and found there is not much available. It is a small area. You have to go a distance away to nearby cities, sometimes, to find work. Good luck.

I live near saratoga springs, but I went to albany for work. Pay in this area is pretty 'meh', but then again I'm originally from california so I am used to higher pay scales. Saratoga Hospital has been sending me postcards about employment in the new ER, if that's an interest of yours.
Ya ER is my favorite! I'll check into that! Thanks!

Does anyone happen to know the starting salary for an RN in Saratoga? Thanks!
