Published

Hello everyone I am just starting a thread to see if anyone else plans on applying to Mountain View in the fall for spring 2020. Or anyone who goes there how many points should I strive for to get into the programs. Hope to hear from y’all.

Don't feel too overwhelmed yall! It goes by SO FAST! I'm in first semester now and at first it felt like it was going SO SLOW and now I can't believe it's almost over! Your skills packs will get delivered to school by the 2nd or 3rd week, uniforms take a little longer. Books are usually available to get and receive about 3 weeks before class starts. Prepare to FOCUS.

How hard is the 1st semester. I’m am trying to decided I I want to work fulltime 3 days or prn

@aimee0321 I feel nothing but overwhelmed especially after success camp ? how is first semester?

Thanks for the advice!

Definitely ready to tackle on first semester. We’re going to all make it through!

Yes I plan too to work FT 3 day 12 hour night shifts. Also, I’m so worried about the dosage calculations! Any suggestions.

I started working on the dosage calculation worksheets today. Maybe sometime next week, a few of us can get together to work on it and talk it through if anyone wants.
I have a dosage calc book that is pretty helpful.

I’ll be in Houston next week. You don’t mind sharing the name of the book that your using? I feel that it’s overwhelming when she said that first week we will go over it and the second week we have the test. Unless I heard this wrong but in reality it’s not going to be a week of studying with them, it would just be one day.

I won’t be home for a while but I looked it up on amazon. I found it at half priced a while back. This book was extremely useful. I also have the blue dosage calc book from Brookhaven’s dosage calc class but it didn’t help as much as this book.

It sounds like it’ll be fast paced for sure. I remember hearing about tutoring for nursing classes but they didn’t elaborate on where those were held. Will def have to find out about those.

I went to the bookstore today to order the book pack. The cost is $568.10 (taxes included). I was told that the supplies are coming within the next 7 days or so, but will be sold as a first-come-first-served basis (they could theoretically run out) or if an incorrect supplies info was given to the bookstore or someone messed up along the way. So, it might be wise having your order placed as soon as you can. I'm heading out overseas soon, if you are in a similar circumstance, it might be wise to order your supplies before you leave.

I just thought to share this just in case it might benefit some of you!

Any word on the uniform? Has anyone gotten theirs yet?
