Mountain View College

Published

Hello All,

I have curently been taking all my pre requesites and supporting courses at Brookhaven College. Initially that is where I wanted to go at first, but after hearing that the program is so competitive I decided to just do a little more research about my options. So, recently I have heard that Mountain View college has a fairly new nursing program. Has anyone here been accepted to the program? If so, how is school? Is it hard to get in? I'm currently trying to start Fall 2014, but unfortunately application deadline is April 14th. I'm a little nervous to apply becasue I will not have Micro nor Pharmacology done until May. Is it worth applying to the program? most of my grades are "A's", but I have not taken HESI yet. What should I do?

HI!

I am too working on my prereqs. And I will not have micro, pharma, or patho til atleast May :( Not really sure what to do at this point. I really want to get in for Fall.

Do you have any new info???

Does anyone have the point system sheet for MVC or ECC?

Those are exactly the same courses i will need. I don't know what to neither. It's hard to choose between schools because every school needs different requirements.

above is the link to MVC nursing program and below is the one for El Centro.

I think is still worth the shot. I'm also applying to El Centro and Brookhaven just to increase my chances.

Hi guys! I too am thinking of applying for the Fall 2014 class. The mountain view website says the HESI and critical thinking both need to be done at MV. Is that true, or can I use my hesi scores from el centro?

I would hate to have to take the whole test again. I would just need to take the critical thinking portion. I have all the classes done except for micro.

when i called MVC I was told that they will accept hesi results from other dallas community colleges, but you will still have to take the citical porrtion.

Does anyone know if they will accept statistics in lieu of college algebra? Just realized they don't mention statistics as a pre req....

i don't know if they do, but you can always call and chek. They are usually pretty good about answering and returning phone calls.

They dont take statistics, so I would need algebra.

Hey guys, im also interested in applying for the nursing program at mountain view.

Im just curious what as to how many points you guys are going to apply with for fall 2014. im worried I wont have enough since I have yet to take patho or pharm, im taking them this spring, but obviously they wont count towards my application. Do you guys know the average amount of points that accepted applicants have?

In past posts, Ive seen people say they got accepted with 22 points. I still need to take the critical thinking portion of the HESI, but if I do well Id be applying with 21 points. That doesn't seem like a lot to me, but I will apply anyway. This will be my 2nd go around for applying to nursing school
