Mountain View College Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there, Trying to reapply to Mountain View for the fall 2019. I got denied for the spring. I do not give up that easy so i am trying my luck once more.Hopefully they will consider me the second time.I will schedule an appointment with the admin to know where i went wrong. I decided to start a thread this early so we can help one another and finally share a classroom together.

This time I am applying to as many schools as possible.

So the NCTC requires teas, anyone done the test? I need tips.

Does anyone know if the orientation is when we will do the drug testing and finger printing? Trying to figure out work schedule for the summer.

Finger printing we do on our own but during orientation is when we do the drug testing.

Hey guys,

For those who were accepted into the Fall semester and have not joined the group already, I created a Facebook group page where we can ask questions that we might have before and during the semester.

Here is the link:

Hey, I can’t get on Facebook through the website. For some reason my account is blocked, but I am still logged on through the app. The groups are now available on the FB app, but I don’t know the name of the group so I can’t search for it.

MVC ADN Fall 2019

For those who have been accepted to MVC Fall nursing Program; emails have went out today regarding the nexts steps for drug testing, finger print, and success camp orientation dates. Just thought I would share that. ?

Hello. I will be applying to MVC for Spring 2020. I can't reach the nursing staff and i dont live in Texas yet so I cant just drive up to the campus. I'm set to move to Dallas November..about 2 months before any of the schools I'm applying to will start. I was hoping I could get some help. Is the PHED 1164 course required to apply or is it just a class you need to graduate. There's conflicting information online. The nursing info session listed this course as a support course but the website lists it as a pre-req?? Since you all have applied already I figured you would know this information to those of you who were accepted. Thank you.

They allowed me to apply without it. I just needed it to be a passing grade before the semester was up. I would just go ahead and take it. It is needed.

Yes it is needed. They want it completed before actually starting. So you can apply without it, but you need to have it finished the semester before applying (I just finished the class on Thursday). I’d say take it in the summer and get it out of the way.

You can take the PHED class online too this summer/ fall if you're out of state. It's super easy

Hey all! I was an MVC nursing student back in 2017, unfortunately I had some serious issues going on and had to step out. My mom had quite a few health scares. It was already hard financially and then I had to try and help pay her bills while she was unable to work! Long story short, all of my sciences have since expired and I honestly just am not in a position to redo them all. I can’t go to school FT right now unless it’s online. So I’m taking my second career choice and becoming a teacher. I will graduate next year. I still have my books from the first year. If anyone is interested in buying them email me! [email protected]

I understand books may change over the years but I can give you the ISBN’s and you can see if they’ll work. My fundamentals access has been used so I of course would let that book go for much cheaper if not free. The Med surg is new. Access code never used and workbook never touched.

I'm assuming that if you have A&P II then you'll already have A&P I, correct? There are no extra points for having an undergraduate degree but it doesn't hurt. And maybe they'll take it into consideration. As long as you have your PreReqs:

MATH 1314 College Algebra

ENGL 1301 English Composition

PSYC 2301 General Psychology

BIOL 2401 or SCIT 1407 Anatomy & Physiology 1

along with your HESI and the other requirements for the application process. I'm enrolled in Pharmacology for Spring 2019 too but we won't get any points for it now if we're applying for Fall 2019 Nursing programs. Have you taken Microbiology yet? The points are calculated based on your prereqs. An A in the class = 3 pts. B = 2 pts. C = 1 pt.

And your HESI gives you points as follows:

. HESI A2 Score: Composite score of reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, Anatomy & Physiology and Math. If your score is:

<75 = ineligible to apply

75 = no points, meets eligibility to apply

76-88 = 1 point

89 to 100 = 2 points

Total points are calculated and then ranked numerically using the following formula:

Points for Prerequisite and Support Course Grades + HESI A2 points = Total Points

I didn't see that I was awarded points for support courses just yet but follow the outline and the best thing may be to schedule an advising appointment with Mrs. Self Drake to go over your information. She is super helpful!!!

Please let me know if you have additional questions or if I was able to help at all.

What are the support course grade classes .Microbiology ,A and P 2 ?
