Mountain View College Fall 2019

Published

Hi there, Trying to reapply to Mountain View for the fall 2019. I got denied for the spring. I do not give up that easy so i am trying my luck once more.Hopefully they will consider me the second time.I will schedule an appointment with the admin to know where i went wrong. I decided to start a thread this early so we can help one another and finally share a classroom together.

This time I am applying to as many schools as possible.

So the NCTC requires teas, anyone done the test? I need tips.

Ok, the Dean replied back to my email just now she states “ noted, thanks”.

I had a reply as well

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had more information about the program than I did. I'm accepted into MVC and another program and I am trying to decide on which as soon as possible to free up a spot at whichever one I don't choose. Does anyone know if the first clinical we are in the hospital or somewhere like a nursing home? I'm hoping to get into a hospital as soon as possible to start learning. Also, are clinicals two times a week or one day the one day with simulation?

The other program I'm in said they don't have a clinical for pediatrics (which doesn't bother me since I know I don't want to do that) but they also said they don't focus on labor and delivery, or critical care which I don't want to rule out. Does anyone know if mountain view does these rotations?

The only answer I have to one of your questions, is yes MVC works with hospitals.

I also was accepted somewhere else, But I declined my spot and accepted at MVC.

Anyone know what hospitals they work with? I tried to ask in the interview but got a vague answer....

The clinicals are held at hospitals. And clinicals are usually once every week.

I wonder if we get to choose the day that works for us?

Also does anyone know how early/late classes are held. Are they typically Monday-Friday?

No they pick out your schedule for you. They usually pass out schedules during orientation in August. And for classes it all depends. Once we settle in it’s usually 3 days. Which is clinical one day, lecture another day and skills another day.

Oh ok, MVC must be different from the other schools. I believe you can choose the day you do clinicals at other schools. No biggie

They pick out all your classes and schedules for you accordingly. But maybe you can switch around with other students, other schools let you. I declined my spot somewhere else just because this one was closer to home.
