Mountain View College Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there, Trying to reapply to Mountain View for the fall 2019. I got denied for the spring. I do not give up that easy so i am trying my luck once more.Hopefully they will consider me the second time.I will schedule an appointment with the admin to know where i went wrong. I decided to start a thread this early so we can help one another and finally share a classroom together.

This time I am applying to as many schools as possible.

So the NCTC requires teas, anyone done the test? I need tips.

hey everyone! I am applying to MVC Fall 2019 but I was just wondering-I have to take Pharm for this semester and I was wondering does that class have to be completed at the time of applying or started at least? The wording on the application was a bit dubious so I was wondering if anybody had clarity on this one? Thanks!

Hello, no you do not need Pharmacology to apply for the Fall 2019 program. By taking it now, it will be 1 less class you'll have to take once you're in the program. I'm taking the class too for this semester and applying for the Fall 2019 program.

Hey everyone! I am also apply for the Fall 19 MVC program. Can someone please help me on what is required at the time of the application deadline. Does all college transcripts students have to be submitted at the time of the application deadline?

Thanks

Hello, yes you will need all of your official transcripts turned in with your application by the deadline.

Can i just turn in the unofficial transcripts from DCCCD instead going to the other college that I attended for there transcript. I submitted all my transcripts to DCCCD when I transferred over?

If the class is not complete by the time you apply it wont count on your application.

Yes, you can go to the DCCCD Admissions office and request a copy your Official transcript from DCCCD which would have all of your other schools on it. It took me just a few minutes to get mine. It has to be the Official DCCCD transcript though that you submit with your application. I've attended 4 schools and DCCCD had all those transcripts already so I just submitted the Official DCCCD transcript with my application.

I'm sorry shauntil07. I guess I misunderstood your question. Adrkari is correct about Pharmacology not counting in the point system for your application for the Fall 2019 semester if you're taking it now. You just need the 4 prereqs classes. Pharmacology is not required to apply for Fall 2019.

Hey All!

Also applying to MVC. How are y’all calculating points? I’m afraid that I won’t have enough to get an interview. I already completed my undergrad for communications, so I may have some extra points there, but as for the support courses, I only have A&P II and got a B:( currently enrolled in pharmacology, don’t think they’ll take that into consideration though.

I'm assuming that if you have A&P II then you'll already have A&P I, correct? There are no extra points for having an undergraduate degree but it doesn't hurt. And maybe they'll take it into consideration. As long as you have your PreReqs:

MATH 1314 College Algebra

ENGL 1301 English Composition

PSYC 2301 General Psychology

BIOL 2401 or SCIT 1407 Anatomy & Physiology 1

along with your HESI and the other requirements for the application process. I'm enrolled in Pharmacology for Spring 2019 too but we won't get any points for it now if we're applying for Fall 2019 Nursing programs. Have you taken Microbiology yet? The points are calculated based on your prereqs. An A in the class = 3 pts. B = 2 pts. C = 1 pt.

And your HESI gives you points as follows:

. HESI A2 Score: Composite score of reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, Anatomy & Physiology and Math. If your score is:

<75 = ineligible to apply

75 = no points, meets eligibility to apply

76-88 = 1 point

89 to 100 = 2 points

Total points are calculated and then ranked numerically using the following formula:

Points for Prerequisite and Support Course Grades + HESI A2 points = Total Points

I didn't see that I was awarded points for support courses just yet but follow the outline and the best thing may be to schedule an advising appointment with Mrs. Self Drake to go over your information. She is super helpful!!!

Yes i was one of the applicants and i had 15 points and was called for an interview. Someone had 23,another had 13, i do not know the highest but you can see the range. I think i messed up on the interview so TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, for it counts towards you getting accepted.

Hope this helps, ask anything, will try my level best to answer!

I wish us all the best.
