Congratulations to those who got into the program! I am in the program now and it's a real bear. Brace yourselves for an extremely intense program. Also, if you have the opportunity to take Bioethics somewhere else...DO....because MSMC is very expensive and taking it concurrently only makes an already difficult program even more difficult. Make it as easy on yourselves as possible. Also, be prepared for an extremely unorganized administration. Hopefully, by the time you get there they will have some issues worked out but it's been challenging. You don't really know what you are in for until you get there and I don't know that I would have understood a warning like mine. You have to be in it to understand. Also, competition and egos are there. Find someone you trust and stick with them. It's not how many friends you can make it's WHO is genuine and trustworthy and a team player. Good luck!

Hello, I can't send messages privately....I guess because I'm not a primo member? Just to answer a few questions. Not sure WHY the competition because noone cares about your GPA when you get out into the job place. Maybe your group won't be like that. Fingers crossed.

The only time they offer Bioethics at MSMC is during your second semester and it's the worst semester to have an extra class. If you have the time to take only one class right now then I would do it PLUS it's cheaper! I wish that's what I would have done but I didn't have time to take it beforehand because I was finishing up other prereq's and I actually wasn't expecting to get in to MSMC. I was hoping for CSUN but I'm glad that didn't work out because I heard they lost their accreditation. Not sure what the status is with them now though.

I can't give much info about workload for the class right now because we haven't had an exam or a paper due yet. The professor seems a bit unorganized. He's using someone else's syllabus but isn't following it. But, we are in class 3 hours a week and I can tell you that those 3 hours can be used for other things. It's NUTS right now! And remember that you must get at least a 75 in each class or you are out of that program. We've lost 3 people so far.

WOW!!! Thank you soo much.. Yes The Mount told me that I had taken the wrong nutrition class so I am doing that and I am also taking a CNA class and then a med term class. I really would like to get the bioethics over too. I am still not 100% like you are if I will be attending so haven't signed up + all these classes and I have to finish them early as classes start May 11.The CNA class that I am taking is taught by a nurse that went to Cal State Eastbay 20 years ago and said then you could get thrown out if you didn't get a certain grade on a test. They don't seem to mention this anywhere.. So it is an overall grade for each class there? The people that didn't make it... can they come back?

Do you really need the CNA and med term class? I didn't have either of those. If you really want to get in and don't want to be overloaded just take Nutrition and Bioethics. If you are accepted into the May cohort you could request to start with the Fall group. I've heard you can do that. You could finish up those two classes and take a couple of months to rest up before you start. You definitely want life organized, a clear mind, and rested body before you start. Also, if you don't make it through a class with a 75 or above they do make it available to retake the class you failed and then pick up where you left off with a new start class. One of our classmates is starting again in May and then will graduate next May. The other one restarted with the traditional ADN group because the pace of the accelerated group was too much. There are options. One just completely dropped out. Okay, have to run....good luck!

I didn't wanna take the bioethics class through Taylor Univ because of the research paper; but definitely, I set up my mind and I am gonna get it out of the way by May 11. hi you guys!!! im a newie to the group...i finally decided to sign up..usually id drop by the page to see what u guys were talkin about...but i actually have a question....have any of you guys STARTED THE BIOETHICS CLASS???? how is it...im looking into the one in taylor...but i am a horrible with grammer and those papers scare me lol...and i dont wanna take it at msmc cuz 21 unit..is a negative for me...so i was wondering what all of u guys are doing and if there is another skool that ya'll are taking bioethics at?? well ttyl and cant wait to meet everyone....toodles....

(I was hoping to take it at CSU (cheap) but they don't have this course as an extention course for general public..)

how do i joy the yahoo group?? sorry im not so good with all this stuff lol...yeah i was trying to look for another skool to see if it was cheaper but i couldnt find one....i went to my old skool but it was gonna cost like 1500 so taylor is better on price but the paper grr...so a negative on that lol...so ur taking the class already?? how is it???
