Just curious---has anyone (particularly new graduate nurse) either ASN or BSN applied
and gotten a job or even an interview at Mount Sinai in the past six months? Does
anyone know if they are on a hiring freeze right now for new nurses? Would like to
get some information to apply. Thanks for you info and reply.

I would also like to know if anyone got hired recently (especially new grads) I'm a new grad, I interviewed in May, still waiting to be placed on a unit.
Again, I am curious---you interviewed in May and waiting to be placed on a unit.
Not sure what that means. Did you get hired, since you are waiting to be "placed"
on a unit? Or did you just get interviewed by Nurse Recruiting and they are going
to get you an interview on a unit?
I only interviewed with recruitment. I'm waiting for a unit with a position that I can interview with the nurse manager for.
I am in the same exact boat as you! "New grad" with BSN, interviewed with nurse recruitment, waiting...waiting...
waiting...! We should compare notes. If you are so inclined.

well i have applied on the website.. faxed it in..emailed.. i think im going to keep emailing and faxing for the specific job they have posted. i mean every other day i see new job that new grads can apply to but idk.. at this point just apply apply apply..i even called and left a message and havent got a called back.
The recruiter told me they don't even look at online apps. But in order to be considered for a position you have to have your online app filled out so they have the info they need for background check, references, etc. Good luck!

Seriously, this isn't going to get you a job or noticed any faster. In fact, if I was the nurse recruiter and noticed so many multiple submissions from the same person for the same job I would completely ignore it. Proactive followup (calling, visting the hospital to meet with the recruiter or manager or setting up an appointment) to meet with them is what helps to get things moving along.
thanks for input... will remember it..i just thought people said to keep being persistent. i haven't submitted aps for same position that i know not to do.. i have done the calling and some meetings.. idk wut to do anymore.. i think im cooling off from job hunt for couple of days..

I am trying to get my foot in the door as well. I am coming from Pennsylvania, and I have an associates, so I am at a huge disadvantage! What number did you use to reach someone? I have been applying like crazy to everywhere!
