Hi, I've created a forum for all prospective students for the Fall 2024 ABSN applicant pool at Mount Saint Marys University. The most recent forum I've seen are from students applying to the Summer 24' ABSN MSMU program. Feel free to submit questions and updates on the application process ? My application is currently "under review"

Thank you @Futurenurse2023., I really appreciate all of the details. This is super helpful to even just start mentally preparing for the program.

Thank you for all the info!! 🙂

Hello!

I am not sure if I was added to the break-room is someone able to add me? Thanks, just getting the hang of this site. I am so so excited to meet everyone!! 🙂 I have two things: 1. does anyone have a BLS certification from American Red Cross? I had to renew mine at the hospital I work at and worried that MSMU won't take ARC and only AHA. Thanks! Also, I am planning on living in the Doheny campus Grad student housing! Let me know if you are as well!

Also, I see we have to get a first aid course and our BLS? I guess I'm a little confused because BLS includes CPR and AED training. Is anyone able to help me clarify this? Thanks

Hi, yes BLS does include CPR and AED but unfortunately, some hospitals require both for whatever reason so you do need to get your BLS and first aid course. Also, they only accept AHA and no other certification brands. If you plan to live on-campus I truly recommend those that who plan that to just get an apartment off campus together because it will cost you less. It is also near USC so some USC students look for roommates which is cheaper than living on campus.

Hi everyone! Just doing some research and I'm really interested in this program! I have some concerns about my GPA so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their stats if they were admitted, it would help me a lot! Thanks :)

I was accepted, I had a 3.2 GPA :), I volunteered at a hospital once a week

Hi y'all! I'm part of last year's fall 2023 class! Interviews happened in April and acceptances came out end of April beginning of May!

my inteview was a group interview that was virtual, and unfortunately if you don't get an interview you don't get into the program its usually their way of filtering out students

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Do you mind sharing about how many applicants received interviews and what types of questions were asked during the interviews? I just heard back saying that they want me to do an interview and I'm feeling kind of nervous and just want to make sure I'm fully prepared! Thanks in advance!!(:
