Mount Saint Mary's University (ABSN Summer 2018)

Published

Hello Everyone,

I have recently applied for the MSMU's Summer 2018 ABSN Program at the Doheny Campus, and I would be delighted to know if anyone else applied!

I am scheduled to take the Math Exam on the 16th of December!

I thought this thread would be a great way to keep each other updated throughout the process. Anyone is more than welcome to share on this post--whether it'd be about the application process, experiences, and future goals!

With that in mind, I sincerely wish you all the best of luck!

The wait is killing me. I am so scared I'm not going to get an invite.

Hi All! I, too, applied to the ABSN Program for Summer 2018. I got one question wrong on the Math Test and got an interview invite via email on Friday, 1/12/18. My interview is scheduled for mid-next week. This is my second time applying to the program with my first attempt being Fall 2017. I know how it feels to be anticipating any sort of response so I made an account to respond to some of you. Hope this helps!

Any idea why it didn't work out the first time you applied? Thanks for the info and congratulations.

Did they email you that you didn't get in in the fall? When you reapplied did you do anything different? Ie, volunteer at a hospital, retake classes or anything? Congrats on the interview! Good luck

I did not get a denial notice last time I applied and I was frantically checking allnurses.com for other applicant responses. When Agasia finally called me back, I was informed it was a transcript issue. I immediately acknowledged it and remediated the mishap for the next application cycle.

They did not email me in the Fall nor did I get a denial letter. A lot of the applicants had access to a 'portal' that I did not, which I believe is no longer an option for the Summer 2018 Cohort. Since I last applied, I volunteered at the hospital and got IRB certified/published. TIP: I applied to volunteer right after I submitted my previous application because I know how valuable patient-care experience is AND the application process to volunteer can be lengthy given you need updated shots, Live scan and CPR certification. I hope this helps! And THANK YOU!

Hello! what was the issue with the transcripts? Were they not received in time?

Do you mind me asking your stats?

I was taking pre-reqs Fall 2016 and Winter 2017. I wrongfully assumed that I didn't have to send and pay TWICE for my official transcripts to be sent after Fall 2016 since I still had Winter 2017. Admissions were expecting me to pay twice to send official transcripts of both Fall 2016 and Winter 2017 completed courses.

I have a previous Bachelor's and I have worked in a medical facility in administration for the past 5 years. I just completed all my nursing pre-reqs in Spring 2017 with only one B and that was in Microbiology. What is everyone else's stats including yours?

@nevertoolateRN Sounds like things are looking good for you this time around.

My stats are ok. 3.3 last 60 units GPA and 3.5 science GPA. I have some volunteer and medical office admin experience. I missed 4 on the math test. I applied to one other school and am now really worrying that I may not get into either school. Going to apply to WGU although I am hesitant being that it is online.

I have a 4.0 in my pre-reqs and a 3.7 in my previous Bachelors. I dont have healthcare experience though other than Volunteering. Hoping its enough, but still no invite.
