Just reaching out to other fellow nursing students who applied for this coming Fall 2011 ABSN program at Mount Saint Mary's (Los Angeles)...I completed my application a few weeks ago.

Hey all!

Congrats to those who got accepted already! I am in Tenessee right now and my mom called me Tuesday to tell me that I had been accepted!

StudentNurse: How much is the Taylor University class? How many weeks is it? I hope to also take it this summer to get it out of the way. And to answer your question, I think I will be commuting. Thanks for the info! And congrats again!

I just signed up yesterday. It's $1,050 for the class and 3 used books were less than $100. You can register for the class anytime and from the date you register you have 6 months to complete it (but MSMC requires us to finish before Fall 2011.) If I read correctly, you can refund the tuition money upto 30 days from the date you register for the class. So, I figured it couldn't hurt to try and get it done before Fall, especially if I could get a refund if I didn't like it. I'm determined to finish it by August though.

I was thinking about taking it through Taylor University as well, but I don't know if I can finish it before classes start. I've read from others who took the class that it takes about 4-6 weeks to write all the papers and such and that's if your on top of it. Others have also commented that the teacher who teaches the course at The Mount is quite good and extremely knowledgeable. Aside from the extra course during the last trimester and the stresses associated with it, it comes down to paying I think $3000 extra at The Mount or something like $1000 at Taylor..Hmm, I'm still deciding but leaning towards taking the online course.

Is Taylor's Bioethics course titled "PHI 410E Bioethics"?

I'm from diamond bar and I'll be commuting to msmc. If you don't plan on moving closet to campus, we should carpool. They give special priviledges to those who carpool too. :)

Has anyone else heard any good news? It seems to me like everyone found out that they were accepted on the 10th. Should I just assume that I didnt get in? But when I went in for the interview they said they were still interviewing up until that week of the 10th. Im trying to stay positive but its getting harder, especially cause I havent heard of anyone else finding out after the 10th.

Stay positive... They haven't accepted 40 to 45 students yet. They are still making decisions. Hang in there... I know it's tough...

I had my interview on the 8th.. I still haven't heard anything from them yet. fingercrossed!
