Just reaching out to other fellow nursing students who applied for this coming Fall 2011 ABSN program at Mount Saint Mary's (Los Angeles)...I completed my application a few weeks ago.

OMG!!!! I just received a voice message from the director of admissions, had to call back and leave a voice message.....in the meantime, I found a lost email from June 1st inviting me to interview!!!! I can't believe it!!! How did I miss the email!!! So everyone....double check all your emails!!!:cool:

fab.prab and Ner214- just curious to find out who you interviewed with and how long ago? Will you guys be accepting or choosing to go to another school?

I'm planning to accept and hoping to see you guys in August! :nurse: I was just wondering if we all interviewed with the same person at MSMC.

I interviewed with the director of the ABSN program on June 3rd and I'm most definitely going to be seeing you guys in August! Can't wait!

I just signed up to introduce myself...i've been following most the MSM ABSN threads since last year, when I applied and got denied. Anyway, I just got accepted for this fall :D finally! I interviewed on June 1 with the professor who will teach gerontology..i forget her name..i was so nervous. She was not the lady who had pictures of the Dali Lama. I hope that helps some of those who are waiting for decisions.

I believe they interviewed around 60 candidates for 40 seats for the fall. thats what the admin ppl told me while i was waiting for my interview with the director. I believe they require a $400 deposit by the 24th of June so they can choose from the wait list.

For those already accepted- have you already taken Bioethics? Are you planning on taking it at The Mount? Or online through Taylor University?

I've already taken Bioethics at CSUF. From the posts I've read, most of the current ABSN students recommend taking it before the program. What are your plans?

Hi everyone, I just found this site and I also have applied for the Fall 2011 ABSN program at MSMC. I had my interview last week, and I think it went well. I have read that some of you have already heard back and got accepted, congrats! But does that mean that the rest of us didnt get in? Does anyone know if they will send out anymore acceptance letters? Did anyone have an interview last week, and are still waiting to hear back?

Hi! Nope that doesn't mean it's over. They will be sending out some more letters of acceptance next week and at the end of the month. If you think you did well, then I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

When I interviewed they said acceptance letters would be out by the end of the month. So, I wouldn't worry too much... No news could be good news. :)

I just signed up to take the Bioethics course online through Taylor University, I figured it's best to get it out of the way now instead of during second semester when I'm worried about the other nursing courses.

Is anyone planning on commuting or moving closer to campus?

Congrats to those who got accepted already! I am in Tenessee right now and my mom called me Tuesday to tell me that I had been accepted!

StudentNurse: How much is the Taylor University class? How many weeks is it? I hope to also take it this summer to get it out of the way. And to answer your question, I think I will be commuting. Thanks for the info! And congrats again!

I just signed up to take the Bioethics course online through Taylor University, I figured it's best to get it out of the way now instead of during second semester when I'm worried about the other nursing courses.

I was thinking about taking it through Taylor University as well, but I don't know if I can finish it before classes start. I've read from others who took the class that it takes about 4-6 weeks to write all the papers and such and that's if your on top of it. Others have also commented that the teacher who teaches the course at The Mount is quite good and extremely knowledgeable. Aside from the extra course during the last trimester and the stresses associated with it, it comes down to paying I think $3000 extra at The Mount or something like $1000 at Taylor..Hmm, I'm still deciding but leaning towards taking the online course.

Is Taylor's Bioethics course titled "PHI 410E Bioethics"?
