We cannot offer medical advice per TOS. I wish your mother nothing but the best with this.

These are questions for a neurologist. We cannot give you medical advice per TOS. Good luck.

As others have stated, we cannot offer medical advice.
We can give you advice on making this decision, though. Get at least two opinions, probably three before making any decisions. Carefully question the surgeon on how many similar procedures he or she has done, outcomes, success, length of hospital stay, and what types and rates of complications they see.
Consider traveling a bit for a hospital that does more of these surgeries or has better outcomes if she does opt to do it.
Best of luck and good health to your family.

Not knowing her this is not educated advice but...if it's causing her distress to the point where she's ready to risk brain surgery, I'd say it's time to talk to a neurosurgeon. She can always decide against it later.
