Mother of nurse

My daughter just took the NCLEX and is in extreme frustration. She has done extremely well in school and practiced on UWORLD. she feels that most of the questions had nothing to do with what she studied at school or on UWORLD combined. We'll find out tomorrow I guess

It's completely normal to feel that way after taking NCLEX. Not everyone feels that way but majority of the people I met said they felt like they maybe got 4 questions right. A couple people said that the walked out feeling like they did great and didn't pass. It's a stressful situation because you feel like so much is riding on it. Hopefully she passed, if not she will just need to take a different study approach. No sense in getting worked up without even knowing yet. She just finished, tell her to go to a movie or do something fun. Binge watch something she has been wanting to watch until she knows for sure.

Thank you so much. She said the test cut her off at 75 questions but she heard that some people passed with that amount and others passed getting 120 or more questions. I just told her that if the test is asking you difficult questions it's because your probably doing well. Well. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it

People pass and fail at any number of questions. I passed at 75, people on these forums have failed at 75. Classmates passed at 265 and some failed at that many. She can play out every possible scenario in her head and it doesn't matter until she finds out. She will just drive herself nuts. Please let us know now if she did pass or not, I am invested now. lol

I will. She would make me so nervous while in school feeling many times that she didn't do well and then I'd find out she scored high. I'd be on my knees praying constantly. I will let you know.

The ten days waiting for my results were absolutely horrible. I ended up passing after 153 questions, and everyone is different. I was convinced that I had failed as well (all I used for studying was UWorld as well). I don't think I have talked to anyone who felt overly confident after writing. Nothing she can do but wait and hope for the best! Good luck to her!

She flew in my room just a few moments ago to tell me she passed. Thank you for reaching out. People don't realize that the whole family suffers right with their daughters and sons. I'm so proud of her

In the "olden days" (1978) we had to wait 6-8 weeks for our results. Talk about stressful!

Thank God it's quick now. I know I'm 51. Everything took long back then. I had to wait a month to find out if I was a teacher. It was horrible

Congratulations to Mom and Daughter!!! WOOHOO!

Thank you for your support. I was just looking for information on the intranet regarding the Boards and I found this site. It was the best one
