Hi all - as some of you may know, I'm a pre-nursing student at ASU, just moved down here from Washington state.

Anyway, out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the reputation of the nursing schoosl in AZ, particularly the 4 year colleges. I know there is ASU, UA, NAU, and then the private schools. How do they all rank? Back home I know how people regard the universities....but being from a different state I really don't have any idea :)

I am asking this just out of curiosity! Not meant to spark any ill feelings or anything :)

You can never go wrong with a state school. I think ASU, NAU, and UA all have good reputations. And personally, any opinions that one person has are usually not shared by the next. But in general, I think that the state schools have much better reputations than the privates (Chamberlain, GCU, etc), and having a BSN over an ADN will certainly help a person out in this crappy job market.

Specializes in Emergency/Trauma.

grand canyon university is regarded very highly amongst several valley hospitals- at least that is what a lot of higher-ups told me when i worked freelance for them (in a different field) and was thinking of nursing school. unfortunately it was way out of my budget.

GCU is the best private school. I met a nurse that works at a local hospital and she told me the students that come from GCU are well rounded and "know their stuff".
