For me, it's not just the school. Still, it's up to the students. How they will work on it. (e.g. the way they studied). As my experience here now and then as a graduating student, I'm starting to read and answer the compilation of NLE from year 2001 - 2007, some of it can't be tackled in my subjects. Still, you need to expand your knowledge by continuous reading from the start. It is really very important.

Specializes in Med-Surg,OPD ER,School/Clinic,Teaching.

Perhaps the user is in search of "elite" classmates. Nothing is wrong with that, especially if one wants to be with people in the same social status. When you have money, you are free to do as you please with your money, how you spend it, etc.

Specializes in I am a nurse period!.

We have seen much posted on this program, does not matter if CA accepts it for licensure, but it is not accepted by CGFNS for the VSC. And that is what is needed for immigration purposes. Completing one semester in the US does not make it a US program in the eyes of the federal government here, and that is what is needed to be able to work here. One also does not qualify for the OPT since they would not have been in the US and in a program here for a year to get that, so with the retrogression and no visas available, no way to remain here to work when you have finished this training. And then there is the little issue that your country does not accept it for licensure and that is another requirement to get a visa for the US, the training must be accepted for licensure in a country for it to be considered as first level RN. Only the BSN from your country as that is the only that is accepted by your government will suffice.

And any other country is not going to accept it either as it will not meet their requirements as well for licensure as well as immigration purposes.

Attending school for one semester in the US does not make it a US program, only a joint venture. But you also need to keep in mind that this came up before the retrogression took effect and we have not seen anyone get thru that program and actually get a visa to work in the US.

Going to school here does not give one any advantage over someone that trained out of the US, and you can only remain in the US for sixty days after the program ends. Impossible to get take the NCLEX exam and get a VSC during that amount of time, something else that they did not tell you about either. And even those that have come here for the full training are not being permitted to remain when they finish.

I would do some serious reading about what is happening with immigration and this program is directly in the bull's-eye of it. You will be spending money and then not able to use the training.

Same thing with the LPN programs that are there, they look very nice on paper and all of those nice things but they fail to tell you that it does not qualify for a legal visa for the US. The H2-B visa is not legal for nurses, it is for unskilled laborers to come for a temporary time only so we are seeing LPNs getting deported now for immigration fraud.

Never go by what a website for a school is telling you, but you need to check further to see if one can actually work with that training.

So far St. Ignatius is the most expensive school I've seen. It's really expensive and it does not give you Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree unlike other schools in the Philippines which is not as expensive as their program.

By the way what is this for?why are you looking for an expensive nursing school? For your Research?

Try FEU,CEU,Manila Doctors College, and Fatima - they also have high passing rates and produces top notchers. Also look for DLSU in Dasmariñas cavite.

DE LA SALLE UNIV- DASMARIÑAS, CAVITE (semestral)- p60K= per sem

PWU- TAFT 45-50K PER SEM - TRIMESTRAL PERIOD

FEU IN has always been expensive but you will be pleased with the quality of teaching and learning that they have. Their program is designed to prepare nurses for global competition. If you plan to work in the States afterwards, FEU is the best place. Finishing nursing in FEU will be like graduating in the states. Especially now that they have their virtually simulated lab. Another good thing about FEU is their strict screening upon entrance and every semester of their students. This simply means that if you dont have the brain, then dont even think about stepping into the campus. You will be wasting your time. They produce competent, knowledgable, and tough nurses.

For IELTS review, dont waste your money and energy for any of them. What you should do is buy their reviewer(official) you can buy it throgh their website I believe or they have a toll free number that you can call. There is a CD and a manual reviewer in the packet and that is all you need to study and you will pass it. The big thing about it is the writing and interview part so if you focus on this two, you should be fine.

feu is a big school. their nursing school has a big population. my uncle was a former professor and he said the school has good facilities.

st. paul schools particularly st. paul manila. quite expensive but i can say that if you want good nursing education, try there! the board exam results are proof!~

For IELTS review, they say niners is a good one. I personally don't know, I just heard this from friends.

try ZEUS in makati near tordesillas I reviewed there and was able to passed my IELTS..

Does not matter if expensive or not. It should be a top school. Those schools mentioned are not even in the Philippines Center For Excellence in Nursing Education. Schools who always land the top 10 for than last 10 yrs in categories less than 100 examinees and more than 100 examinees are the following (random order):

University of the Philippines (Manila)

Trinity University of Asia (formerly Trinity College of Quezon City)

University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center

St. Louis University (Baguio City)

St Paul University (Visayas)

Mary Johnston College

University of Santo Tomas (UST)

Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila

Cebu Doctors University

These schools have proven track records and should be admired by their consistent performance in the board examinations. These schools maintained a passing of at 90% in NLE examinations. And most of these schools hold the distinction of either premier Universities for Nursing in the country or one of the oldest Nursing institution in the country. Most Nursing Leaders, Advance Researchers and Outstanding Professors came from these schools and they have magnified the nursing profession worldwide.
