ER, fast track, OBS. Med surg, but not normal med surg. The med surg unit people complain about having too much diversity, because it makes them visually uncomfortable and (unlike you) they don't want to learn every day. Float pool, preferably one where you have to call in a couple of hours before shift with no clue what the box of chocolates will offer.
All are very diverse, except when they are not

Haha yea I definitely see this with some of the nurses on my clinical rotations. I totally understand that it is super super busy and stressful, but I always wonder like isn't it super fun to learn something new everyday. I think the diversity brings a great perspective of medical Dx that need attention. I mean if you are willing to learn you will excel in anything. That's what I was always taught. Thanks for the advice! Appreciate it.
I mean for me I enjoy being the backbone and I like the support role where I can be good at many different skills and help out on the floor.

ER with out a doubt meets the criteria you describe. No two days are the same. Assignments can fluctuate from an ER patient load to trauma to triage to FastTrack (within the ER) to float/break relief to charge nurse in time. The different roles within the ER bring different experiences. ER is a jack of all trades type of area. You learn a little bit about everything but need to go out of your way to specialize in something.
Fast paced, rarely dull. Always something new to see and learn. No two patients are the same. The volume of patients in the ER is pretty out of control at times...seeing a "good volume" of patients would rarely be an issue. I have loved my years in emergency nursing.
Good luck finding your passion...wherever that may be!

What is the most diverse nursing specialty? Where I am able to see a lot of different types of patients with multiple diagnoses? Then where I am able to use the most amount of my nursing skills. I am more of a person who likes change and would like to take care of a good amount of patients. Thanks.
