Enough griping...
I'm interested to hear what people have done or want to do with their license that ISN'T the status quo...
Start a grass roots patient advocacy group?
CAM consulting?
Global health nursing?
teaching?
Philanthropy?
Let's hear ideas!

I'll bite, but I don't know how creative this is...
I've already done one medical mission trip and would like to do more one day.
I've also looked into parish nursing. I went to a two day seminar and have talked to my church, but nothing has really materialized.
My previous life before nursing was as a business analyst, so I'd really like to be the RN who works with IT to make these lovely computer applications we have to use be, you know, actually helpful!
PS, what's CAM consulting?
Nice! I'm stoked to meet more people who are into medical clowning

Does writing count? I write for nurses, patients, the general public. I found that my love of and my ability to write was enhanced by my nursing and has allowed me to find a niche that does me quite well.

I design mobile-phone based decision support applications for nurses. I have also developed web-based patient portals.

I'm guessing Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM).

hmm, figuring out how to push 600cc of blood in in 10 min..(of course in a dire emergency)used a big stopcock and a large 60 cc syringe. Probably an old trick, but I take credit for figuring out this one..:)
