I have a quick question for all of those who have purchased and taken the Mosby CAT. I went to the website, but there are two versions. I don't know which one to buy. Are they the same or different? HELP!!!
#1 Mosby's Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) for the NCLEX-RN ® Examination - Online Version, 2nd Edition
#2 Mosby's Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) for the NCLEX-RN ® Examination - Boxed Version, 2nd Edition
Thanks again,

Hi Brandi, I don't think there is any difference in them. I think Jen said in the other thread that she ordered the boxed version and her test ID and password were just mailed to her. I ordered the online version and you're supposed to get your test ID and password right away, but I somehow overlooked something because I never did receive my ID/password, so I had to call. But the very nice lady, Cherry, gave it to me over the phone and then I could start taking the tests right away. So I'm pretty sure they are the same thing, it just depends on how you want to receive your ID and password.
If you go to the website and read the descriptions of each version .... they are the exact same.

I found the Mosby CAT extremely helpful and would definitely recommend it! Once you order it you have 30 days to use the tests as much as you want.
Good luck :)

witch is better? I took the test got 94% Consistent Difficulty Level Achieved .38? went on to 150 question and the same. again 150 the same 94% with a Consistent Difficulty Level Achieved of .39? the next day took it and at 75 said it must continue. At 79 it shut off with a 99% probability of passing Consistent Difficulty Level Achieved 0f .5?? just curious if that is better or worst.
Yes, I found the Mosby CAT extremely helpful to me! That was just about all I did the last week prior to taking the NCLEX, I just did test after test. I know a lot of people said that it didn't help because they would get some of the same questions. But what I did was I didn't go review the answers right away, I waited until I took quite a few tests and then I reviewed all the questions/answsers. That way, if I got the same questions during subsequent tests, then it didn't matter or have an effect on my score because I still wasn't for sure of the correct answer. Did that make sense?
The 99% probability of passing with a consistent difficulty level of .5 is the "better" one .... it has a higher probability of passing and a higher difficulty level. The number of questions doesn't matter.
I took about 8 or 9 of the Mosby CAT tests the week prior to taking the NCLEX and I passed the NCLEX. Good luck to you all!
I took last night my first exam 75, the computer stop tellling me that my score was 82%, and
> Probability Statement: Based on a national study conducted in June 2003, your performance on this test indicates a 82% probability of passing the NCLEX-RN examination.
> Number of Questions Answered: 75
> Consistent Difficulty Level Achieved: 0.012
Means that I was awful very bad, or i still have chance, I wasn't focus i took this on my hosp break at 3 am, mainly clues, and picking the answer with not much tecnics, what do you think?
I am taking Kaplan exam on the 24 and the real exam on the 29, fingers cross for me please, I will try my best.

Ulices,
Keep taking the Mosby CAT tests!!! As you practice more of the exams, the difficulty will increase but as you practice more that will help you learn how to pick the right answers... Keep in mind your ABC's, Maslow hierarchy etc. to prioritize.
Ulices, I took my first Mosby CAT about a week before taking the NCLEX. The first time I took the Mosby CAT I got the same as a you did, an 82% probability of passing the NCLEX. I was devastated! I was expecting to do a lot better. But those questions on the CAT were so different than any of the other reviews I had used (Saunders, etc). The 2nd Mosby CAT I took I got a 94% chance probability. I got 82% chance again. But then after that I kept taking more and more of the CATs and I'd get 94% or 99%.
Just keep going with it and you'll be just fine! Like I said I took about 8 or 9 of the CATs the week before I took the NCLEX and then I passed the NCLEX. Good luck to you!
