first off, i copy and pasted all the pre-reqs for the program. can anyone let me know if i missed one? i need to take all of them. i want to make sure i understand what i need to do.

also..

out of these pre-reqs which do y'all think is the easiest for someone whose been out of school for awhile? i want to ease back into the system if you know what i mean....

bio156 introductory biology for allied health

bio201 human anatomy and physiology i

chm130 fundamental chemistry

chm130ll fundamental chemistry laboratory

mat120 intermediate algebra

psy101 introduction to psychology

am i missing anything??

Yes, those are the only pre-req's. I had most of my pre-req's completed with my prior BS degree, but I have been out of school for 7 years and just started up again. I have taken CHM 130 and BIO 201 and I can now apply.

If I needed to take all of them, I would start out with PSY 101, MAT 120 & BIO 156, in that order. I would take CHM 130 & BIO 201 last. Don't take CHM until you have finished math!

the psych would be the easiest. i don't know what your math skills are like, but i would personally would take the algebra and chemistry last.

Do you have your degree yet? If you haven't, I'd wait until you get your feet wet in clinicals and you'll probably get a better idea of what area in the field suits you best.

Very good information, thank you!!! There is a possibility I won't have to take BIO 156. It says if you took it in highschool then that counts.. not sure if that still applys but I am pretty sure I took it in highschool..

But that was 4 years ago.. does that matter? Anyone know?

I would think that BIO in high school would count....even if it was 4 years ago, but you'll probably have to get your records to prove it. They are OK accepting some of my classes that I took during my first stint in college, which were from 1997-2001, so you should be good.

I thought the same as I had highschool biology. But, most advisors recommend you taking bio156 before the more difficult classes. GCC has you take a test to test "out" of bio156 but they say most dont pass. Im taking Bio156 because I don't want to be lost in my other classes!

Another thing, Math120 has a pre-req if you don't test right into that level algebra. It's math092 (or 091).

What about BIO 202? Do you guys have to take A&P II up there?

BIO 202 & BIO 205 became a co-req's in January. I would still recommend taking them before getting into nursing school, but you don't need them to apply.

Ok, sounds like I should take bio156 then....... and I need to study a heck of a lot, I'd rather just jump right into Math120! I need to blow the dust off my brain LOL

If you have taken one year of high school chemistry within the last five years, you do not have to take CHM 130.
