Moorpark College Spring 2017

Hello everyone,

I couldn't find any threads for spring applicants for Moorpark's ADN program. Anyone else apply for the upcoming semester? And if so, have you taken the TEAS/been invited for the test?

I also only applied for Moorpark's program so I do hope to get in for this period. I will also add my input on the prep books I used in case anyone planning to take the TEAS runs into this thread:

Mometrix:

Pros:

- detailed information for science section (I found the anat/physio section to be particularly useful)

- english section written in a way that made it easy to understand

- 3 practice tests

Cons

- text heavy, so its not for visual learners

- reading section was not detailed enough

Accepted Inc.

Pros:

- lots of images so its easier to understand, a plus for visual learners

- sample test questions throughout the text to review the info covered

- reading section was easy to undertstand and more detailed than the mometrix text

Cons

- anat/physio section covered the basics but I felt it was not thorough enough for the test

It helps to use multiple sources to study for the test since each book covers things that other doesn't.

Hi,

i only applied to Moorpark. I went in to talk to Lydia because I thought my pre-reqs had expired. She said I was good to apply, but that the deadline was in 3 days. It didn't give me a lot of time to apply anywhere else.

To study for my TEAS I used ATI YEAS Study Guide 6 by accepted Inc. I didn't like it. The writhing style was hard for me to follow and there were some typos I found in the math section.

I also purchased the ATI TEAS Secrets by Momentrix. I liked this study guide much better. The first book I was failing all he practice questions and the second study guide I was answer most of them correctly.

Truth be told, I'm pretty nervous about getting accepted (not that we all aren't lol). My gpa isn't the highest from being younger and not motivated. I did get honors from my LVN school so I'm hoping with that and my TEAS it's enough to get me in.

Has anyone heard from the program on getting accepted to Moorpark? I'm so nervous. I applied to Moorpark and Ventura. Good luck to you all. ♡

I applied to MC only for spring 2017. Took Teas on 14th and did awful on reading:(, only got 74 on Teas. And my overall point is only 83 according to MC point system. So nervous...

I guess by the end of next week, not earlier. The proctor at the TEAS exam told us that they are going to call people probably by November, 1... They have a lot to do so they won't have enough time to send letters.

I applied for other schools, but MC is the closest.
