Hi everyone! Though I would post a thread for anyone applying to Montgomery College for Spring 2020!

@Bunbun08 you will be able to start classes at UMSON as early as your second semester at MC. So that will be Fall 2020. Once you apply Spring 2020 for Maryland dual enrollment, they will advise you and then inform you of the fall class start dates

Thanks so much @cmg9311! I also was accepted to the BSN at UMD but chose to do the MC program/dual enrollment since it was a bit more price-savy for me. Your tips have been so helpful!

@cmg9311 Hi! I'm almost done finishing all my nursing pre reqs and will be applying for fall 2020. I'm really interested in the dual enrollment program MC has with UMSON. I was wondering if someone were to start the the dual enrollment semester, how many classes would or could they take and if they would be online? Another big question, because you are starting the dual enrollment program next semester, will you be able to finish your BSN not long after graduating with your ASN? I ask because there are programs that take a year to finish the BSN if you start after getting your ASN.

Did you guys had to pay for the ATI late fees? I thought we couldn’t access blackboard until January 21? Now I’m trying to buy the ati and it have 35.00 late fees

Hi @becca_r,

For the dual enrollment, for your first semester that you start, you will only be allowed to take one course. Over the Summer, as I just found out, MC will try and block you from taking any UMSON courses because they don't want attention being taken away from Pharm, a Summer course all nursing students will take. I had to really advocate for myself and I am being waitlisted for one course this Summer. Dual enrollment students get whatever leftover spots are available for Summer courses. After the Summer, you can request to take 2 UMSON courses for the fall and Spring semesters but you'll need approval from your adviser. It really depends if I am approved to take 2 courses and if I get in a class for the Summer, then when I graduate MC, I'll have only 3 courses left to complete.
