Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

I like the idea of having the spiral index cards. I'd like to have different colored ones for the different classes. I like the organization and convenience of it.

I just did another interview. The lady seemed qualified. She was watching kids of domestic violence until her mother got sick and passed and she has since lost her business. It was a really depressing interview and the lady just seemed sooooo sad. Like she lived a hard life. No enthusiasm whatsoever. I feel badly for her and wish I could help as I know she is eager to find work but I need someone more upbeat for my kids and she charges too much.

Anyone try the tuition payment plan through MC? Thinking of doing it and would like feedback. Looks like a good deal. Only $35 set up fee as long as you aren't late with payments, allowing us to pay over time and not take such a large financial hit all at once.

I went to CVS to use the 2-day pass for 25% off. Got some good deals on household goods. As far as school supplies they didn't have much, got some eraser refills and lead for mechanical pencils. I don't recall seeing office/school supplies @ Sam's or Costco.

Sounds like the lady you met w/ is going through a rough time. To have lost her mother and then her business has to be overwhelming.

I haven't tried the tuition payment plan. Do they charge interest? If fees are reasonable, it's a good way to free up some funds.

No interest that I saw Kristian. I was trying to convince DH of doing this but he was thinking of putting it on a credit card then transferring it to a different card at 0% interest. I think the latter is opening a whole new can of worms and can be a disaster.I'm so excited. I just found another lady with an in home day care. She is just starting out but she was a first grade teacher in the MCPS. I found a tv interview with her and how she helped one of her students make a speech breakthrough after being involved in an accident that left her a selective mute. I wonder if she could help my son with his speech? Anyhow, I found her facebook page and there are so many wonderful comments from friends, peers, etc praising her as a teacher. I am trying to drop by her house tomorrow to see her facility and talk more. She is going to charge me the same the nanny is going to charge which really isn't too bad, especially since they are both teachers. And I think it would be great for Liam to be around other kids, especially if they are his age. I just hope all these different people and changes aren't too much for him.

Wow, I feel like I missed so much only in the last 2 days! Lol. I've been trying to read all of your posts and decided to go ahead and order my stethoscope from Medisave. I got the purple Littman Classic II 28" and got it engraved. I used the promo (thanks travelista!) so with shipping I only ended up paying $75! Not too bad, in my opinion :)

The only drawback was that I wasn't able to order more from that website to save on shipping other items. I really wasn't impressed with the selections they had for the instrument holder, forceps, etc. I'm gonna have to order those elsewhere I guess. Maybe Redding or Allheart...I'll have to do a price comparison.

Nikki, I did the TIP at MC during Spring 2010 and it was great. There is a $35 start-up fee but there is absolutely no interest. Obviously, they have a late payment fee but you can avoid that by doing an automated payment, which is what I did. They will send you an e-mail a few days before it's due to remind you it's about to come out of your account and then they'll send you another e-mail once it's been taken out of your account. I did the 5-month one but you may have to do a 3 or 4-month plan since the school year is just around the corner. (They have deadlines by which you have to sign up to get the 3, 4, or 5 month plan). I think it's a way better option than dealing with credit cards and interest and all that.

I already got 4x6 note cards (not the spiral though, gonna use the key rings) and pocket notebooks from Staples. And I think I'm gonna get the black badge holder from Fenton's since it holds money too. But I could definitely throw in on the badge clips...I really like that purple one! Lol :)
