Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Published

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Andrea: I like the tops you posted, esp. the one from JcPenney. The slim fit is nice.

Marissa

Marissa - I just saw your post at the old thread. We had been talking about meeting earlier for lunch/coffee to get to know each other prior to orientation. I think we were all on board but no final arrangements were made since we still had a ways to go. I'm so glad I have "friends" already going into this new chapter. It'll make it so much easier and funner. Thanks girls!

Hi girls,

I completely agree w/ you Nikki, it's been great getting to know you all and I'm excited to meet in person. I'm still for meeting before orientation. Should we start planning the details?

Great! Thanks for the reply, Nikki. So, we'll firm up plans as the day gets closer?

Marissa

Ditto here, Kristian.

Maybe we could meet up at this place: http://www.yelp.com/biz/tiramisu-bakery-cafe-silver-spring. It's within walking distance of the Cultural Arts Center, where the orientation will be held. What do you guys think?

Marissa

Sure, we can start trying to plan. For what it is worth, I'd prefer to meet somewhere on the campus. That way we don't have to worry about being late. Is there a cafeteria, starbucks, or whatever on campus that someone knows about where we could meet? If everyone else would rather meet up at a restaurant, I will go along with it. I'm just not familiar with the surroundings or the campus and would be more relaxed if we stayed nearby.

There's the place I posted above and there's also a coffee/food place or two in the Student Services building, where the Office of Admissions is located. I think the cafe I mentioned might be quieter, though. I agree with you about staying close and only having to park once.

Marissa

I haven't tried that cafe, seems very interesting. I agree w/ parking only once and I too don't know the area very well. Staying on campus would be more convenient but I can go either way.

Tiramisu, the coffee shop, is a 4 minute walk from the Cultural Arts Center: http://mapq.st/k90ceY. You can copy and paste the link into your browser.

Marissa

The Student Services Center is a 13 minute walk from the Arts Center: http://mapq.st/mJhGeD.

Marissa

Ok, so shall we say the coffee shop then? Do you think it would be easier to park in the campus garage and walk to the shop? Or is there plenty parking at the the shop?

Marissa, any luck w/ finding a new place? My friend was looking for a tenant for his two bdrm condo, but then he decided not to rent it out. The commute would suck-it's Montgomery Village area. If you're still interested, I'll let you know if/when it's available.
