Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Thanks Kristian! The test is called the 2011 Mandatory Education Post Test and it asks questions from the Self Study Program I just mentioned...all from Montgomery General, not MC.

Is Fentons open on Saturday? If so, I may go get the uniforms tomorrow too; just to cut down on what I need to do on Monday.

They might be closed tomorrow though if they are freaking out about Irene like everyone else is. I might try to go down before lab on Tuesday to pick mine up.

Just finished Ch.18!! I'm so excited to be almost done :) I think I like using the dimensional analysis technique. In high school chemistry, that's how my teacher made us do our formulas so I guess it kind of stuck with me.

I got the documents for the other classes. Looks like alot of writing for NU 105, but I don't really mind that too much. It's citing resources that's a huge drag! Haven't really looked at stuff for 121 yet.

Hopefully they won't close tomorrow, but it'd probably be best to call in the morning to make sure. What time (s) is (are) your first class(es) on Monday girls? Mine is at 2 and I don't get out til almost 8.

Gonna get back to the books now. I need a good 5-10 minute break in between chapters lol. I'll definitely finish 19 before bed then probably wait til tomorrow to put the key concepts of the Calculating stuff on index cards. OMG I just realized I haven't gotten shoes yet!!! And shopping for them this weekend seems out of the question...will we need them for lab or just clinical at the hospital?

My class starts at 10.

I think for lab it is ok to wear your normal shoes. Just the lab coat is necessary.

Wow, you girls are way ahead of me now! I haven't touched my calc. book at all today. I cked NU121 earlier and no files yet. We are just about to have dinner...ran a few last min. errands.

I was thinking about going to Fentons tomorrow if the weather holds up.

Andrea, any closed-toe shoes should be fine in the lab.

I am way behind on the Calculating too but figure I can hammer it out over the weekend, just trying to get all the comptuter stuff done ASAP before power (if power) goes out....time to veg out now

My first class is @ 10 and the last one ends @ 7:50.

Tina, we are on the same pg...got everything printed and ready to take w/ me. Still nothing for Montgomery General, though.

Kristian, my NU 110 class ends at 7:50 on Monday too! Are we in the same class? I can't remember lol

I just finished ALL of Calculating!!! WHOO!!! That feels good to be done with :) Except now I have to go back and write all the important stuff that I had to keep looking back in the book for on index cards, but I'll do that over the weekend. The math really wasn't all that bad. What IV questions did they not want us to do? Cuz I felt like a majority of the chapter 19 review questions were about IVs, so I did them anyway and I got most of them right. There were a few I had to look in the back and see how they got the answer, but when I saw how they did it, it seemed so obvious lol.

Kristian, you were on the fast track there for awhile so you deserved a break! You still have plenty of time...I finished the last 3 chapters in one day and it was a very broken up day. Of course, it is almost midnight now that I'm done so I'm gonna go watch TV in bed for awhile and then it's lights out. Talk to you ladies tomorrow! :)

Way to pound it out Andrea! It definitely feels good being done with the actual homework but I have so many notes now to take and just won't be able to get it all done in time. We are meeting family for lunch and then my MIL will be staying here tonight and possibly Sunday night. I don't think she would mind if I excuse myself to study. I think DH just wants her to spend time with the kids.

I was looking through the 121 and 105 files. Saw some homework assignments and such. Did you guys see that we have to do assessments on each other during lab for 121? Shorts and a sports bra. I spoke to my contact about it and she said most of the time we can wear a t-shirt.

Andrea, I think we do have the 4pm together!

Nikki, I just logged onto mymc and there are no files to look @ for 121. Did you get an email from your instructor? It'll be fun to do assessments on each other.

I'm sure your MIL will understand that you have to prepare for school.

I will be working on the remaining chapts...almost done w/ ch. 17. I already did all of the note taking...maybe will add some things to them.

We may get lucky w/ the storm after all!

I agree with Kristian, Nikki...your MIL will probably understand that nursing school requires alot of preparation and you need to focus on getting your work done, at least for some of the time that she'll be there. Just show her the green sheet with all our assignments! Lol

Fenton's is open today, I called to make sure. So I'm heading over there now to get my stuff. I'll let you guys know how it goes...
