Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Yes, the rules in the calculations book would make for excellent notes. I would love to put them all together for future review but I still have to do notes for two chapters in the fundamentals now that we have the instructor objectives.

I did not do the apothocary questions since we were told to only do the household system section and to skip the roman numerals in the beginning of the book.

I won't be coming tonight. Too bad it wasn't on a Friday or weekend evening. It is just too hard when DH gets home around 8pm most nights.

You're right Kristian! I didn't think of that. I'll have to go down there tomorrow or Friday then.

Sorry we couldn't do it on a weekend Nikki :( But I'm sure we'll all be getting together again sometime during the semester to unwind and keep each other from going insane! Lol

I think we can rent them too...the labcoats. What is it, 50 cents a day? Might be more convenient than having to go there twice and pay for parking each time.

Oh yeah, that's right Nikki. I am wondering though, what the supply is and how many ppl will rely on that on our first lab day.

I'm doing ch 15 and really liking the formula method...it's the fastest method to calculate, IMO.

I like using the ration and proportion method thus far. I only got about 10 pages into chapter 13 last night. I sent you guys another message from the nursing student.

FINALLY!!! I got to Ch. 13 lol. Grateful for a little more reading and a little less math-doing!

Got your other e-mails Nikki. What a bummer that we have to do this procalc thing every semester! But on the other hand, I guess it'll just make us that much more proficient and confident.

I've heard about the test questions being kind of tricky. I got an NCLEX study guide. I think I'll try to do some of those questions as we go along in our class to get a feel for the wording.

Hey guys, done w/ ch 16. 3 more to go...do you guys know what part of the IV medications for ch.17-19 we're NOT to study? I think I've earned a little break... ;)

I finished Ch. 13...also got repetitive with the 30+ medication labels they wanted the same information for! 6 more to go...hoping to finish the rest between tomorrow and Friday so I have the weekend free :)

Just finished dinner. Gonna get my little guy ready for bed soon, then off to The Greene Turtle. Wish you could be there Nikki! Hope to see you there Kristian! :)

I know what you mean about 13 Andrea. I zonked me. By the time I finished I took a nap. Hopefully I can get another chapter or two done tonight. I'm falling farther behind than where I wanted to be. I let Lucas have a friend over this afternoon and was able to fold some laundry and make dinner.

Thanks guys! We did have fun...the best part was when a group of about 10 40+ yr old women got up and started dancing choreographed hip hop songs in front of everyone at the bar!!! Maybe they were demonstrating some of their Zumba moves?? LOL whatever it was, they ended up being a crowd pleaser and it definitely provided us with some entertainment! (P.S. I took about a 10 sec video clip!)

Did you guys get an e-mail from Ms. Robinson? New things have been put up, including powerpoint presentations. I usually print out powerpoint notes and then take notes in the sides. But now that I see the extent of the notes, I may decide to bring my laptop to class with me. I need to print out everything we need to bring with us on Monday and start organizing my binders/notebooks, etc. I'm gonna strive to finish 14-16 today and save the rest for tomorrow. Over the weekend, I'll probably work on index cards for the Calculating notes (since it'll probably be raining too much to do anything anyway).
