Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Published

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Andrea: I would prefer a 10-hr shift as well, for the reason you stated and also because I want to have as many free days as possible to work part-time. I'm hoping to just have classes on Monday.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. That's how it was done at FDNY. Sort of. They did it by our SS# and I happened to be one of the last few people to choose, which is why I got stuck with the Bronx. I really wanted the station in Brooklyn that was literally 10 minutes from my apartment. I was so upset when other people picked it ahead of me and they had no more spots available. Plus, I'd done my ride along's at that station. Pretty disappointing. Anyway, I'm trying to get myself in the mindset of just going with the flow and not getting too hung up on where I do my clinicals.

11 days til orientation ladies! Are you excited or getting nervous?

Has anyone found another MC thread of current students where we can ask some questions?

Nervous, anxious, excited and so on...lol! 11 days? For some reason, I keep thinking it's farther away. I haven't had a chance to look for other current threads, yet.

It was a hot one today!

BTW Nikki, thanks for the list of facilities.

Specializes in Future CRNA or Nurse Practitioner.

I'm VERY excited, EXTREMELY anxious, and a little bit nervous lol. I just want to get started already! Or at least have some information to get all the preparations underway.

I've looked for some other threads but haven't really found any for students that are already in the program. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place...I just type "montgomery college" in the search engine. The only things I've really found are applicants for other semesters.

I'm right there with all of you...excited, nervous, anxious, you name it. I haven't popped on any other threads recently. Thanks for the links, though, Kristian.

Do you all want to meet maybe an hour and a half before orientation? Say, 11:30am? I definitely want to get to the Center early enough to sit up front.

Hey Marissa, you're welcome. 11:30 sounds good to me. Have we decided to meet at the coffee/bakery shop?

I think that's the plan. Everyone seemed to agree on Tiramisu. We could meet at the corner of King St and Georgia Ave, near where the Arts Center and parking garage are located, then head down King St to Eastern Ave where Tiramisu is located.

Thanks for the links Kristian.

Ok, so 11:30 at King St and Georgia Ave? Do we park in a garage?
