Anyone applied to Monterfiore SON for Fall 2014 or evening program Spring 2015? How quick is the process? What TEAS scores will they accept?

On the phone, Monte asked if I had taken the TEAS and wanted to know if I scored at least proficient. I speculate you need at least proficient to be considered based on that conversation.
I scored advanced and will most likely defer admission until the Spring. That should open another seat for someone in the Fall. I want to finish Micro and Lifespan before I start.

i reviewed my A&P 1&2 notes. They were far more in depth than the ATI book. I really used the ATI book to identify wherein my base of knowledge was lacking, earth science, and i spent time googling for those topics. My thinking was, if I could explain it to someone else, I was set. If I said "Um" more times than a coherent person should, I needed to revisit the topic. I do wish I had taken the teas through Monte as it would have allowed me a few more chem classes and a more thorough review of periodic table trends, but I scored advanced and can't lament not scoring exemplary. I would flip through the book, make a list of what you aren't comfortable with and find a fun way to review/learn those subjects.
best of luck!

Hi. I'm new. Does anyone know how many people got accepted already to fall Monte program. I am waiting to hear...got advanced on TEAS score but not sure if that's all they look at. Thanks and good luck to all.

Hi there. So far there's about 5 of us here on AN that's been accepted. I don't think that all they look at is the TEAS score. I scored proficient but so did some of the ppl that's posted n they're still waiting on Monte's decision to this day.
Hi and thanks for the info. I wonder what GPAs they are looking at if you have already an associate degree. Only need micro. Wonder how that course is compared to the A&P classes?
BTW what pre-req courses if any have you done? And do you think there are a lot of applicants out of HS?
A minimum of 2.70 GPA, they only calculate the courses that they require as pre-reqs. They have a GPA calculator on their website. I have an associate's degree, but I don't think it's relevant. I've gotta retake micro, didn't do so well the first time around.
There's no way of knowing how many applied right out of HS. We'll have to find that out during orientation. I still got Eng II, psych lifespan, sociology n micro to take. I'm already enrolled for psych n sociology for this summer. I'll take the other two next summer. Depends on the workload the 1st yr, maybe I can squeeze it in there.
I don't know if you can apply right out of HS. At least at WCC, you had to have taken Chemistry, Math, A&P 1&2, and I think a few other courses to even sit for the TEAS exam. I know Monte requires the TEAS so unless their requirements to sit for it are different, or those courses were taken while in HS, I don't know how someone could apply right out of HS.
Ldy76, will you take those courses in the fall if you get in? Or will you try to take them over the winter or following summer? Or defer to the spring? Just curious.
I'll have to c the work load during the 1st semester n maybe I'll try to take it for winter/spring. If it's too much definitely I'll have to take it in the summer. But i'm definitely NOT deferring for spring. :)
