Montefiore School of Nursing Spring 2016 Applicants

Updated:   Published

Hello Guys! Figured I'd start a new thread on Montefiore SON for Spring 2016 since I haven't been able to find one. Anyone out there in the process of Applying to their nursing program? I called them yesterday and was told they will be sending out Exam invitations soon. Where are you in your process??

Got it! I wasn't sure since the invitation letter didn't say a location for it...

hey, when are you taking the test at cochran?

Just got my test confirmation for the 25th of this month.. Omg soo nervous!!

Hi I also applied to the evening program. I actually sent out the application (express) on the 29th. After thorough researching and seeing that several CRNA programs accept a BS degree in something other than Nursing with an associates in RN.. therefore I am doing that route. I also sent them my Transcripts. I am praying that all works out.. Please keep on posting notes. How long does it take after sendig the application for them to respond?

For whatever reason, I still have not received my test invitation in the mail so I called the school. They emailed it to me instead. I have to print it out and send it back to them. I just hope I get my first choice, I know its first come first serve and I'm a week begins with sending out my date í ½í¸«í ½í¸«

Hey, at least you called and they emailed it to you. That's great!... Which dates are you picking?

I chose the last 3 dates as my top 3, the last being my 1st choice

Omg @Hope, the 25th? That's right around the corner. Good luck and keep up posted!

What study guides/tools are you using to prepare for the test?

@ krypton [h=1]Yes, 19 more days! I'm so nervous thinking about it every day. So far I have been using these book: Math for nurses by Kaplan, English to the max with 1200 questions including a section within this book for reading. I also did the reading practice exams from the Kaplan book. For the Science my notes from A&P, A&P book and doing the questions at the end of each chapters.. Hopefully, is enough to score a decent score on the test. My plan is get a good score to secure my seat for the following spring '17 because I would not be able to start this spring 😔- I will be giving birth to my second child this February☺️... So, I hope I don't see any of you future RNs in 2017 because you all will be accepted this spring 😆. But you all have to give me tips for clinicals, lecture and lab.[/h]

First off, congrats on the pregnancy. I love, love, love kids! Let's hope I feel that way after Peds. Haha

Second, your prep sounds just right. I'm looking at my old AP notes as well and using the HESI guide for the reading part. For math, I'm using Basic Math Review for Nurses.

The admissions office clerk informed me that the first day of classes for the evening program is 1/9/16. When are you taking the KAT? My date is October 9th.

Omg the 9th? Yikes! I don't know why I thought it would be closer to February.

I chose 10/17 because it was the only Saturday in October. I didn't want to take any work days off. I need to save them for my "sanity days" once I'm in NS. Haha
