Hi, I want to know if there's any of you here who is currently a student or has been a student of Montefiore school of nursing (used to be Dorothea Hopfer school of nursing) in Mt. Vernon?? Can you tell me about the school's nursing program or maybe your personal experience in the program? And I live in queens, is the traveling going to be an issue 'coz I'm just taking the subway/metro north to get there.. do u happen to know if there are students from queens that goes to this school? Any response will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Really worried about the Teas. I'm supposed to take the Teas on April 11 for Laguardia Comm. college nursing but now I'm thinking twice on taking it or not since Montefiore has the same test. I called Montefiore and they told me I can carry over my score to the school but I need to make sure that I pass, if I fail I won't be eligible to enroll this coming fall. Unless I wait for them to contact me by September or after (evening classes) and schedule me for the Teas, that is if I'm eligible and pass all the requirements to be considered.
Hi there. I'll b taking the TEAS at n for Montefiore as well sometime between April n may. U have to have taken 1 yr of chem in HS w a 85, or have taken chem in college. At least 2.70 GPA. U can call n speak to them. They're very helpful. N I'm sure u can have ATI send montefiore ur TEAS score once u get ur results. But idk what score they're looking for admissions. I've been asking on this forum, but nobody's answering. Good luck!

I'm a nursing student at Laguardia Comm college and finished all my pre-reqs. I've been trying to apply for the nursing candidacy in my school but I still can't get in the program, my GPA is 3.5. I realized I can't get anywhere if I only focus on one school so I decided to apply at private schools and Montefiore is one of my top choice. The Teas is based on your level of proficiency..
Level 1 developmental (41.3% and less), Level 2 basic (greater than 41.2% but less than 58.7%), Level 3 Proficient (Greater than 58.6% but less than 78%), Level 4 Advanced (greater than 77.9% but less than 90.7%), Level 5 exemplary (90.6% and above)..
I was not given a specific passing score when I called them, but I was told that we should be on Level 3 and above to be considered.. I believe I was responding to your comments at the other forum, Goodluck on your test!
