how many ppl started and out of thoese ppl how many grad?

how many went onto the lpn-rn program?

how is the facutly/professors?

ps-those of you that attended the info session today plz feel free to comment as well!

when is the deadline to apply for this school? I will like more information about the application process. Thanks

It actually may be too late for the Fall semester...the deadline is June 15. You have to have everything submitted/completed. The things that may take time is submitting official transcripts, having the letter of recommendations filled out and submitted and attending a mandatory nursing information session that you call the school to schedule you for. Other things of the application may be done online. Once you finish that, you go to an interview with one or two faculty members of the nursing program. They will ask you a few questions about yourself, why you want to attend their program, why you want to be a nurse, etc.

I am in the nursing program and I must say that it is an excellent program. The nursing staff is excellent They make sure you are on top of everything. As long as you get through the admission process you dont have to do with the school itself again. Overall the school is good from my experience.. Will highly recommend. Am not saying this because I am in the program. The nursing school staff really cares.

Hi, What do you mean by you don't have to "do with the school itself again"?

How are the professors who teach the class? and how was your clinical experience?

Sorry if it seems as if I am grilling you, just curious :specs:

LOL its ok. What I meant is that the nursing program does registration etc for you so you don't have to wait on lines and such which is sometimes annoying. Faculty and Staff there are excellent. They really want you to learn without babying you. The nursing school gets personal visits from the president, which you think it would be scary but he makes sure all the students are okay. I do not live in the bronx so some of the commuting to the hospital was a hassle, but otherwise the experience in the hospital was great. My clinical experience so far has been good. I learned the good and the bad about nurses, and some nurses do not like the idea of you shadowing them. The first semester clinicals were in a nursing home, second semester was in pediatric hospital and maternity unit and the last semester is on the Med Surg Unit.

Monroe college is not accrediated by NLNAC national nursing league, I'm researching schools I have a ba in liberal arts but I would like to do nursing, looking at accelerated nursing programs. Expensive.. Ranging from 11,000-25,000semester. I'm searching LPN programs . Plan is to do lpn, gain experience hope the union can pay at least half of my rn degree. http://www.nlnac.org/forms/directorySearch.asp

I've searched the nlnac website, yes you are right. Monroe College is not listed an NLNAC accredited school but it is an approved NYS program. Its a legit school. Trust me I've done my research on all school is NY and NJ. I would not continue into the school if it was a rip off. Check out the site NYS Nursing Programs: Associates Degree. I can promise you that you will not go wrong if you choose Monroe. I have a B.S. and majority of the classes I didn't have to take because they were transferred in. People would ask why did you do LPN when you have a degree or they say you are wasting your time. I dont regret taking the LPN route at all. Its an accelerated lpn program where you can work part-time and go to school in 11 months. Right now, I'm waiting to take my boards too while taking RN courses at the school. If I listened to people I would not be where I am today. The staff is very supportive unlike schools I've heard about.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If you have any questions message me.

I'm currently an lpn and was interested in their rn program. I see that it's full time days... Just wanted to know if u or anyone you know that went to the school worked while in school and if so how did you manage & what was your schedule like?

I know someone that attends the school. IT IS a full day program. If your considering (working) why not try applying to other programs : Helen Fuld, CUNY LPN to RN programs, Online Colleges: Chamberlain etc.

Hello L_kelz, I currently attend their LPN to RN program and I work. Classes are in the mornings so many of my classmates work in the afternoons or weekends-fulltime or part-time.
