Hi , I am currently in my 2nd semester for the RN course. I absolutly love the program- the class sizes are small (abount. 20) so you recieve personal attention from the professsors and they all really care about your performance and success. I really enjoy the nursing program.

Answers to your questions:

1. If you are talking about the math placement prep class- i HIGHLY reccomend it! You only have 1 opportunity to take the placement test and it really helped me out and refreshed all of my math skills.

2. I entered the nursing program as a LPN and i am currently in my 2nd semester RN. I love it- you get personalized, hands on attention from the professors and they genuinely care about your success/performance.

3. i know the college only accepts 40 students each year, and i beleive at least 95% of them graduate. I do know that currently they have a 98% pass rate for the boards!!

4. Most of the students continue into the RN program

5. I absolutly love the professors- like i said they really want you to succeed. If a professor feels like you aren't doing well in a class/ need help then they will spend extra time with you and help you. The professors really care about you, unlike in most colleges where your just a number in the program.

thanks mkao123...yeah mrs. **** seems as though she is a very genuwine and nice person that really cares about the students..im glad that you are in the rn program...if accepted i would like to continue onto the rn program as well. thank you so much for your insight. but i have a few more questions (sorry eager and very inquisitive about the program from an inside perspective)

1) do you know anything about the entrance exam they require you to take (TEAS). what is the passing score? i know she said at least above an 45 percentile in each section but i am just curious the overall to get into the lpn program.

2) do you know anyone that had a bacholers or an associates degree before entering the lpn program. i know its sounds silly (backwards right) but i have an AS and my friend has a BA and we reeeeeeeeeeeeallly want to be nurses.

3) can you ask someone currently enrolled in the lpn program to possibly come on here and give me some feedback? (hope thats not asking too much). Dont get me wrong i sincerly appreciate your insight but again i am looking to get into the lpn program first lol

No problem, glad to help.

1. Yes i had to take that.. it is the TEAS version 5- the college is looking for students that score proficient. You should go to atitesting.com for information on the test.

2.Yes, there are several students that had other degrees then decided they wanted to do nursing. It is not silly at all, sometimes you don't realize what you are really passionate about until you have experienced other fields.

3. I was in the LPN program, but i can try to ask another student.

im sorry i thought you said you ENTERNED into the nursing program as an lpn already and just did the RN program...so you did attend monroe college lpn program..im i correct meaning you did the entire 2 years (or still persuing)???

Sorry for the confusion- I enrolled in the LPN program (recieved my LPN license) then continued into the RN program. So yes, i did attend the LPN program and am currently in the RN program with one semester left.

aw congrats! good for you. did you have to take the TEAS exam? if so what were your results if you do not mind me asking. i am really nervouse and i need some insight as to what grades i should get. also, how many people were in the lpn program male:female ratio? and how many moved onto the rn program? thanks so much again.

I am in the same situation as well. I have a bachelor's degree and have majority of required sciences such as the anatomy etc. I am in the process of applying there. I went to the info session last week and the school sounds convincing. I have applied to many schools, associate rn and bsn programs came to the conclusion that i want to start from lpn because its too competitive.

I have a few questions, are you currently working as an lpn. I'm afraid that I would not get a job while continuing into the rn program. what is the schedule of the classes in both programs. I know its day time but what is the typical schedule of the nursing classes.

Both nursing programs are full-time day programs only. The classes are held Monday through Friday from 9-5

Hi. Thank you for your answer. I was looking for more specific detail - I already took a lot of the first year classes and am transferring them - for instance I only have to take a 3-credit class in the 2nd semester, how many class hours is that per week? The only thing left after that are the clinicals. I heard they were on Thursday and Friday, from 8 to 2PM. Do you know where most of the locations are? The reason I am concerned is that I need to get organized to have someone care for my kid when I have to go to class. I am grateful for all information, thank you in advance.

You will first have to find out what classes transfer and what is left for you to take as far as time, the nursing classes are scheduled specifically each semester. Clinicals are usually done at Jacobi, Bronx Leb., St. Barnabas, V.A. Hospital, Open Door, Montefiore
