Stars I am glad the will is clear, and that you are consulting with an attorney and  being cautious.  Hopefully they are being honest with you, but I know families can fall into conflict after a death

NJ22 I've heard of issues with getting the vaccine at some pharmacy chains

Tweety glad work wasn't bad today

Ado I hope you feel better and your tests go OK

Hi Abbnurse and TMB

Yesterday was good if a bit busy.  Went to church and did cooking.  Had some time so I went to a forest preserve for a walk, glad the rain has finally stopped and did some reading for the book club

Then went to church for the setup and cleanup for the jazz concert. Went well, attendance a bit light at 30 or so, but at least half the people attending were not church members,  which was good.  That ended up taking most of the evening

Today after work have a vestry meeting at church, will be glad to be done with that, only 2 more meetings after this one then I'm done.

Will be another cool day in the mid 50s, thankfully no more rain

Good morning!

Stars, it does smell like a rat.

Netflix does seem to have slim pickings in movies these day and I have to dig for things that appeal to me but I have found some good ones.  #1 and #2 in movies today are movies that received horrible reviews as bad movies but apparently appeal to the Netflix audience.  I did see that they added the critically acclaimed "Get Out".

Slept in after the dogs woke me up for their breakfast.  Have the six months service to get my air conditioner looked at.   Nothing much going on.

Stars, I meant to add, if you haven't already, definitely keep a detailed record of Nannie's expenditures, supplies, food, etc.

I watched Get Out. I liked the acting, the ending was a little weird.

Good Soggy Morning. The rain that has been promised has finally arrived. I went for a jog, and it was tough. Gusty winds and I was pretty soaked after about 45 minutes and the rain on my glasses made it hard to see. My arm that I got my vaccines in on Saturday is red, swollen and itchy!. This reaction is more like what I had after Shingles shot #2 than previous COVID or flu shots. Oh, well, I guess it means my immune system is kicking in. The optical shop just called to say my glasses are ready, so I set an appointment to get those adjusted. And dh and I are going to Costco to get his RX and bread. And, hot dogs for lunch, a guilty pleasure.  I thought I would look at more electric bikes, but not in this weather.

Gosh, Stars, I hope your lawyer visit is productive. I guess, worst case scenario, you and Momo move to a cute little apartment, and Mr. Stars' family takes on the  care of the Nannie.

Annie, by now your tests are done, and hopefully reveal good health. Did you do the nuclear test or a regular treadmill? The one time I did it, I tried the treadmill but my heart rate wouldn't come up. And thus started my cardiac journey.

Hope everyone's day is going smooth.

My SiL 'did' Nannie's hair while she was here, and got her to sit outside for a little while; they both had "a good time" this afternoon with each other.

The lawyer wasn't in today, so, I get to go to the lawyer's tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM. Then to the Funeral Home at 4 PM.  The STUPID Soc Sec office had me on hold 3 times and disconnected me all three times! I have been asking everyone who has lived here for a while......WHERE in the name of __________is their office, so I can go stand in their doorway and GLARE at them, and I just can't do that on line, or the phone, if they ever decided to answer their phone, that is.  I HAVE TO talk with an 'agent' in person!

Tomorrow, the neighbor's mother is coming to sit with Nannie again; I feel much more comfortable with her being here than SiL.

I did get my nails done, and I went to WallyWorld to get a hoodie jacket that isn't faded, have shredded cuffs , and no stains! I also bought a smaller purse that I can use as a crossbody bag....much easier to carry. But the purse has to be returned; I'm not sure where it was made, but the long strap that is supposed to be adjustable was sewn on backwards, and it didn't know how to adjust to a longer length ! I'll go look at the purses in Belk's and/or Dillard's; generally they have a much better quality of purses than WalMart!!

So, I find myself wishing hubby was here to give folks 99 kinds of hell, so I could get this stuff accomplished more easily. He was very good at that ^^^^^ on the phone. I remember him telling one wishy-washy customer service person: "I want to talk to whomever is directly responsible for firing YOU," That'd make someone quiver in their boots!

Time to figure out supper; nothing too awfully complicated;  we have food from neighbors that we can zap in the microwave.

BIG "SIGH"......life does go on, in spite of everything.....

Stars, I have to agree with Tweety about keeping records of Nannie's expenses. Kind of like "document, document, document!". And good to speak with the lawyer and make sure you are on the same page. My parents (my mother, really) made it so easy for us and we didn't have reason to squabble. My sister may have complained a little bit that we lived in the house rent-free for 3.5 years after Dad died and before I finally got a mortgage to buy out the other two. Ah, well.

Hubs' family was very hard-headed about Gma's guardianship and the properties and such. And Gma and GPA did *not* plan ahead to make it easy for the "kids". Now that BiL is gone and SiL has severe Alzheimer's, Hubs is the sole guardian and I don't think there will be a lot of bickering. I guess the attorney did tell him at some point that the will specified that if one of the "kids" died then their portion would go to the grandkids, *not* to the spouse. Seems kind of petty, but who am I to judge?

J22, the tests went fine. The cardiologist had told me that they'd do the chemical stress test and I was confused as to why. But the nurse this morning said she didn't understand why and asked me if I could manage the treadmill. I said yes and so that's what we did. Maybe this young cardiologist just thinks I'm an old woman. I don't know.

Just after I got out of the shower this morning, Twin B knocked on the bedroom door (he had just gotten home from work) and asked for help. Darby-dog was in the kitchen and unable to stand. She had a big urine-and-feces mess. He cleaned her up in the shower and once on carpeted floor she was able to stand/walk as well as she has been able lately. So we didn't make any big decisions today but the time is coming. All our pets are pretty spoiled and the dogs think they should sit on the furniture. Darby can't always make it into the recliners or the big chair she likes. It's kind of sad when she jumps and fails. Dory occasionally has a problem but she's still pretty spry for her age as long as she doesn't aggravate her degenerative disk disease.

After I grumbled about the staffer at the big chain pharmacy, it was announced that the company had declared bankruptcy. So maybe she had just learned she was losing her job?
Stars, even keeping receipts like for adult diapers will help.

Hmmmm. I guess it's a good thing I have so much stuff I need to shred and haven't shredded a lot of it yet; there will be receipts that I can go through and mark on each of them what was Nannie's and what was ours. That's the only way I can do it, because like I said, we didn't spend just Nannie's money for Nannie's stuff; some of her stuff was purchased with my checks and some of our stuff was purchased using her checks. So I will have to put it on my already excessively long TO DO LIST. ? GADS!

Momo and I are in bed relaxing. She does better than I do in that respect, because as long as she is with me, she's satisfied. Plus, there is no fly in this room that zooms around and 'bugs' her. She really would like to catch and kill that fly. *I* would love for it to land SOMEWHERE so I can send it to bug-heaven with a swatter.

And, tomorrow is another day,  ?  at least as far as I know right now!  ?

I am really glad you have Momo with you Stars. That was wonderful timing.

I made a thread for today since I didn't see one and there was an error.  Probably Joe posted and got the same message.

Anyway, just testing to see if the site is up and running and make a report if need be.

Have a great Tuesday.

There is no Tuesday (10/17) entry right now (11:45 AM) and I can't figure out where or how to start the day's entry. I'll try to let someone know, so it can be straightened out. I think Joe didn't start the thread because....isn't he traveling somewhere today?
