Tweety hope the weather is good at the beach

Stars it's always good to reconnect with family

NJ22 seems a bit early for snow

Dianah everything went well, although we were having some issues with the church  bells, which we were able to resolve

Was a good day, since laundry was done was a quieter morning for me before church despite being earlier than usual.  More people than usual, and most stayed for the brunch thereafter.  Had a nice time talking to the minister's wife and one of the choir members.  Plenty of food, though I think we probably had too many egg dishes, could've used some more variety

Rest of the day was quieter.  Made a crock pot chili recipe.  Watched a new Netflix  series called Eathstorm and did some knitting.  Was going to ride my bike but forgot how soon the sun sets, with the clocks set back an hour, so used the exercise bike instead

Today after work have a doctor's appointment.  Will text J to wish him a good trip, since he'll be leaving Wed and I know he has a lot to do.  Also need to text my sister to confirm how many of us will be coming to my nephew's musical next week,  and see what to get the kids for Christmas

Definitely going to be a cooler day, in the mid 50s today

Good morning!

Joe, glad people showed up for church and the potluck.

Dianah, sounds like a lot of fun.  Glad you had a nice time.

J22, cold and rainy is the most unpleasant of weather situations to me.  Hope you had a good day anyway.

Stars, must have been weird not finding your husband like that.

We do have alligators here.  However, human beings have really forced them away and I only see them in parks.  This is why people don't swim in the lakes here.  About 30 minutes south of here is a State Park with a big lake that has a huge quantify of large gators living there.

I had a nice day.  We took the free shuttle from George's condo at the beach and went downtown to Tampa Bay waterfront and had lunch at a popular waterfront restaurant.  Lot of people out and about.  We walked to our favorite gelato place and had coffee and gelato outside.  Lots of people about.  Weather was hot with "feels like" temps in the 90's and the actual temp around 86.  We took the shuttle back to the gulf beach and sat on the beach for a bit.  Just before sunset it started to rain and we made it to the car just prior to a major downpour.

The shuttle is controversial because all the areas it goes through objected, especially when they created a "bus only lane" through much of the route which they say increases traffic in the other lanes.  I didn't see that but it was a Sunday.  Our mayor at the time approved of it, but the beach mayor did not.   It was federally funded and run by the county and they went through with it.  I disapprove of some of the spending projects here like the pier where I had lunch that cost over 90 million dollars, but at the end of the day I still enjoy them.  I still say we never needed the pier but it is really popular with locals and tourists and I enjoy it myself.  Here's me enjoying the Pier with the city in the background yesterday.

Joe, sounds like a good Sunday!  Agree, need more variety though that's hard to achieve with a potluck!

Tweety, love the photo!  We have a short train line that was just completed and started running two weeks ago.  It, too, was embroiled in a LOT of controversy.  For now it runs from the main Amtrak line to a little town near us (very close to oldest ds), to the University.  Eventually it will go further east, to Indio and the Coachella music festival.  Ds is pleased with the train for, as a non-driver, he can take it to San Bernardino and then get on Amtrak to Los Angeles or to the beach cities.  It runs through Anaheim as well (think: Disneyland).  But, again, it was not built without controversy (and $$$$$$$!).

Gosh, I slept well last night!  Today will be chore day.

Have a good day!

Halloooo there!

We are sunny (and the sun "SURE IS BRIGHT", per weatherwoman, Nannie) and the temp is  kinda high for October --it is 82 degrees!

I got shot this afternoon, a "double-tap" ? , ie one vaccine in each arm. So now I have to make time and arrange one day for the pharmacist to come out to the car and hit Nannie with the flu and the covid booster. Wonder if I can get hubby to agree to a covid booster, as he is due.

He just woke up from his afternoon snooze and I dunno, he either has taken his last Librium on an empty stomach, or he has taken his Xanax. He is slurry and dopey sounding. He was supposed to call the PCP's office today, but I don't know if he did. He is supposed to be on the 10 mg Librium, to continue the taper, but oh well. He has an appt for his annual eye exam tomorrow.

Gotta do some Nannie-care. Will come by later,

Hi. I just got back from an eye exam, 3rd one in 3 months. My routine eye exam this Summer was with a different person than usual, and she was convinced she saw a change. She did this 2 years ago and sent me for 2 very uncomfortable consultations that amounted to nothing, so I avoided her last year. Well, I got stuck with her again, and oh, no, you need to see a specialist! So I saw him 2 weeks ago, he did a scan, said come back for a visual field test. That was today, and guess, what, no change! No sign of what the Dr. Catastrophe thought I had. So I have a throbbing head ache and reassurance that I do not have normal pressure glaucoma. Good grief.

I got a quick run in this morning, and brrrrr. Only 33 degrees and a northeast wind. I have nice warm running clothes, but my face was frozen. I've been listening to a fascinating podcast called Ultra, about Nazis in the US in the 1940s.

I suppose eggs wouldn't be unusual for a brunch, but they can get awfully rubbery. Crockpot chili sounds delish. I kinda of wish I had a trainer so I could ride my bike in the garage, but I can't justify the expense.

Nice picture, Tweety! That shuttle sounds like fun. I've visited Portland, OR and they have a nice transit system they call "the light rail" that makes getting around very convenient. Seattle is just adding onto theirs. I wish our local bus ran more often. I would take it to work, but it would take 2 hours to get home.

Take care

Once again I'm being lazy. Joe, ranch beans sound good for a potluck. We had a special service for All Saints Day. I went (and sang with the choir) and Hubs stayed home with Gma. The boys got home from their trip to Indiana last night.

I was not allowed to have a lazy weekend. Hubs was determined to clean Twin A's bedroom. Oh, the things we found! I was wondering why we never seemed to have any clean towels.

There is so much to do at work I'm overwhelmed. I guess that's not a bad thing.

dianah, that sounds like a good trip and jam.

Tweety, the shuttle sounds like a good thing. Our state wants to build a toll road to bypass OKC coming from the east on I40 and going south on I35.There is plenty of controversy. It would displace about 700 houses, according to the opposition group. And the location is terrible for the wildlife rehab. They'd probably have to sell their land and try to find another place, farther from the highway. But it will probably happen.

Stars, it sounds like your dh is hanging in there. The doc may have dropped the ball on the librium. Hopefully that's not going to be a problem. My brother and sister and I text some. This week it was because my brother, who lives near Houston, was excited to be watching the Astros in the series.

My nephew and his wife are thinking they'll drive up during the first part of Thanksgiving week and bring my sister, which would be nice. The last time I saw her was 2 years ago when Hubs and I drove to Corpus Christi and she met us there for a short visit. We all used to get together at my parents' house at Christmas and I miss that. I have some second+ cousins still living in the area, and one first cousin, but we don't see anyone often.

I called to make an appt to have my hip looked at (it was pretty painful this weekend), and though my own MD only had openings in January, they had an opening TODAY with another MD in the group.  So I took it.  He listened to my recitation of symptoms, checked my ROM and inquired where the pain was.  After the appt, he said he thought it was bursitis, and recommended some stretching exercises, plus he said the usual treatment is a steroid injection, so ppl will do the exercises without pain.  I opted to just do the exercises, in spite of the pain.  As long as I know I am not damaging anything by stretching, I will do them.  Then, the injection can be my Plan B.  He did order a pelvis and right hip X-ray, which I had done there before I left.  So, I feel like I accomplished something: got seen, got the X-ray, and got a list of exercises.  ?

Tomorrow dh and I will meet the band at K's house at 3pm, to practice two songs, and then we will drive to the little Christian TV station here in town (about 1/4 mile from where we live), to do the two songs for their Christian Connections program.  We arrive at 5, the program films from 6 to 7, then we will go to the Mediterranean restaurant for a late dinner.

Ado, good your sons made it back safely from Indiana.  I'm sure the choir appreciated your vocal support!

nursej22, too bad you had to see the ocular specialist, and do a deja vu thing!  Good, though, that there is truly NOTHING WRONG!

Have a good evening!

Dianah, I saw a physical therapist for trochanteric bursitis. She tried to tell me it would take 8 twice weekly visits to improve. I felt better within two days after doing the daily stretches she showed me, and was given strengthening exercises on the second and final visit. She also pressed very hard on my hip flexor with her elbow on the affected side to release tightness. I bought a therapy ball to roll on that really helped to.

Appreciate the information, nursej22!  Good yours improved so quickly!

Forgot to post today.(Monday)

Personally I had the injection for my bursitis's, as I had hurt for so long, and the PT did little to help. Of course, then I had an MRI and they found the cyst pressing against L3, L4 or L5 (I forget which). Once that was gone, I seldom had pain like that; however, now my L hip has been muttering. I think part of that is from this crappy sofa that is "my" place to sit in the den, due to no other options for seating for me. May just be bursitis there as well as in my left shoulder, oh, and of course, my left knee. None are critically painful right now. (and long may it be so!)

Okay, now going to Tuesday's posts.....

No, I didn't forget to post today (Monday). DUH! So, on to Tuesday.........
