Stars I'm glad he now realizes that he needs treatment, I hope he follows through

Ado corn casserole sounds nice

Hi NJ22

Got laundry done before church, then went to church and coffee hour. Agreed that I would sing for Christmas and Easter but not any other times, which is a good compromise

While  J was late due to traffic we did meet up for the play, Murder on the Orient  Express.  We both felt it was rather slow in the middle but ended well.  Good set design too

Rest of the day was quiet, exercised a bit when I got home

Started writing down memories, not a complete autobiography but anything that has stuck with me or seemed significant, no matter how large or small.  I've wanted to do this for a while now.  It's surprising how much I have to write about some things, even ones that  aren't that significant

Hoping for a fairly ordinary week at work.  I guess we'll see.  Also hoping to keep up keeping calm at work, I did so well last week

Going to be in the 40s the next few days, but will be up to 70 by the weekend

I guess I forgot to hit send on yesterday's thread.

Stars, I do hope your husband gets into rehab and the office takes his demanding to be seen well.  I don't suppose him using a walker is a possibility.    Anyway, it's quite clear his doing it on his own isn't working.

Joe, the shingles vaccine I think looses some effectiveness after five years.  I was taking care of a patient that was re-admitted the next day and treated for shingles, but so far so good.  I don't even remember when I had the vaccine.   Sounds interesting to write down memories.  I did some of that when I was in therapy and the therapist's approach was the inner child thing.

The bathroom remodeling is supposed to start today but I'm getting no emails or texts that it's going to start today.  I was at work when I confirmed the appointment and wrote down the date.  I checked my junk mail.  Nonetheless I've emptied the bathroom of all it's contents and moved it to the bedroom or the other bathroom.  I've got the other bedroom ready for the dogs because they stay in the bedroom where they will be working on the bathroom.  I hope my blind dog finds the water dish and just sleeps.

Otherwise I'm off for three days.   I can't complain about he weekend at all.  Census remained low and I had 4:1 ratio most of the time.  Got out on time both days.  Patients were pretty decent too.

I was right about the date for the bathroom remodeling.  They showed up at 9:00 and are hard at work.

Hello all!

Our Manx cat is perched behind me, on the chair, insisting he be petted!

Tweety, cool about the remodeling!  You will enjoy the results, I am sure!

Joe, I meant to go to an Agatha Christie play this weekend, performed by our local theatre troupe.  But I forgot!  So I will go to the Sunday matinee this coming weekend.  Glad you enjoyed your play, and that you and J got to get together!

No Stars, will see what today holds for you and dh.

Safe travels, nursej22!

We had a quiet Saturday.  Did Zoom Sabbath School, and in the afternoon dh and I practiced some music.  He plays mandolin with the Jamkazam, and likes to keep his "chops" up with the banjo, by playing music with me.  He feels the banjo is too loud to use with Jamkazam, and he doesn't like to add banjos if there are already some at the session.

Sunday we were invited to a get-together, a jam session at friends' house.  It's a beautiful large house on a large property, about 30 min from us.  We drove up a small road, through a herd of burros, to arrive at the gate.   They are in the midst of remodeling but were "together" enough to host this.  There is a large combined open room (kitchen/dining/living), with enough room for a grand piano and plenty of room besides, for seating.  Marble floors!  Huge floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooking the desert hills.   Eight or so people arrived with  instruments, one of the guests played the piano, and probably another eight or ten sang or helped prepare food.  They preferred hymns, so we all played and sang then had soup and hummus and crackers and cheese and strawberry shortcake.  There were some visitors from Nepal, a man and his wife, who sang a Nepalese song.  It was very cool to hear the ethnic variation!  Then we played some more.  Later in the evening, one of the women helping with the food approached and asked if we would do a "modern" song, suggested Sweet Caroline.  Well, I recognize the song but have never worked it up.  So dh suggested Blue Bayou, which we did and she appreciated it.  Most of the instrumentalists had gone by then, I think there were just three of us playing.  I think we stayed four hours.  What a nice event!

Today we have no plans.  Will probably participate in the Jamkazam jam.

Have a good day!

Hate to sound like The Donald, but yesterday's hopes for this morning were "FAKE NEWS"!

Hubby woke up this morning feeling 'finer than a frog's hair split 4 ways'. No pain, he said. Slept like a log, he said. Didn't feel like he needed to go to the doc's office today. (a-yuh)

"Well, you are still keeping your Dr's appt on Thursday at 1 PM and I will take you there and see what the doc says." We never did get the results of his MRI; he was supposed to go see the gastro doc, but never did; his primary doc ought to have the results on file.

I was worried last night because he said he finished off his stash of vodka by mid-day. No ABC stores open on Sunday. All I could think was that if he wasn't drinking and hadn't any 'just-in-case' on hand, he might get the heebie-jeebies + jubberty-wallops (just trying to lighten the mood) and frankly I was worried about seizures. I told him he better not FALL between now and Thursday or he will find himself in an ambulance going to the ER and hospital he "hates"!!

So that's that. I have to do book-keeping and bill-paying, as his SS check came in today.

All for now....

J22, that looks very pretty and nice.

dianah, wow on that house. sounds like a good gathering. Blue Bayou is one I'd like to sing, you know, if I ever jammed or even did karaoke.

Stars, I'm gonna keep hoping that the pieces fall together at the right time and the planets align and your dh has an epiphany that lasts more than a few hours.

We're supposed to have a couple of cold nights (I've heard temps like 31 and 29). Twin A wants to bring in the begonia he gave me for Mothers Day. It is planted in the ground. It's not very large, never spread out much, so I think we can dig it up and pot it.

Last year at Halloween I bought a plastic skeleton. Twin B hung it in the coat closet then asked his dad to look in the closet for something. We all had a good laugh and then forgot about it. Then we had a guy come do a termite inspection or something and he opened the closet. We laughed about the skeleton in our closet.

So the other day I got Sam Bony out of the closet and put him at the outside table with a pumpkin. Twin B said if we lived in a more progressive community he'd want to give Sam Bony a pride flag, since he came out of the closet. I'm not that worried about what the neighbors think but they wouldn't be in on the joke about the closet. They'd just think we had a proud skeleton.

Ado, no "bones" about it, you are "with" the season!  And you are right, most people are not prepared to find a skeleton in the closet!

I ended up skipping the online jam session, to cook a red lentil bolonese pasta sauce.  It smells good, and I am looking forward to tasting it later.

Not much else new here.  Have a good evening!
