So, I took Nannie out in the car while I made a deposit at the bank, then picked up 2 books from the library, and stopped at the grocery store. I brought Nannie back, and unloaded the car, and parked it under the carport. Then I realized I had forgotten to pick up 1/2 gal. of milk, so I had to drive one mile to the convenience store and back, it took me all of maybe 6 minutes. I did not take Nannie for that short trip and now she is MAD at me! I asked her why and she said it was because "I can't come back." ??
She had me to go over our outing with her 5 times and said she still didn't think she had been out at all. I told her I was sorry that she had a poor memory, but still, she DID go out in the car with me just a short while ago, and we were out for about 2 hours. Then she asked me where was my car. It's under the carport. Why didn't I bring it around in back of the house? Because we are through running errands for the day. She informed me that SHE hadn't gone anywhere and she hadn't done any errands; but she when I asked (nicely!) where she wanted to go on her errands, she couldn't think of any errands she had to run, so she pouted and said "Well, Just NEVER MIND!"
SiL came by this AM and gave Nannie a bath, got her dressed and fed her breakfast and AM pills, which Nannie is also mad about because she didn't KNOW SiL had done that. She tried to climb out of her chair and I asked if she needs to go to the bathroom, and she informed me that she was going outside to walk whether I liked it or not. So I got the walker and took her out to walk the driveway. During our walk she c/o the brown areas in the lawn and then when I said it was dead grass, she wanted to argue about that. She is just wanting to argue, I guess. When I told her I would fix her some supper she informed me in a quite snippy tone, she didn't want me to do ANYTHING for her. I have turned on the TV to distract her (I hope!) from her crabbiness!
SiL said she had to fill out a form for another daycare center that is just starting up over behind the Walmart we always go to. She talked with BiL to see if they could afford 2 days a week there (Tues and Thurs, from about 8 AM to 5 or 6 PM.) But she would not begin going there until after Thanksgiving week; and the first day would be 4 hours to see how she acclimated to it. But that would also mean they would let Chatty CG go, because it would cost too much to have her ($75/for a 6 hour day) AND the daycare ($85/day including meals). But she still doesn't have any time-line about when Nannie might go to the FREE daycare at the Senior Center, but I certainly hope they have an opening for Nannie during my lifetime!
SiL said she felt GIDDY that Nannie will be going to that other daycare place. But, it is another case of hurry-up-and-wait ....while it is PROMISING, I won't believe it until it happens!
Hi. Went to the gym. walked the dog, made cookies, swept and vacuumed up dog hair from dog-sitting for dd. The cookies were dried cranberry & white chocolate cookies. Too sweet for my tastes, but dh liked them.
I ordered a precooked Thanksgiving meal on line today from Whole Foods. We'll supplement with sweet potatoes, rolls, and dessert. Hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy time with family instead of hours in the kitchen and then falling asleep right after the meal from exhaustion.
I encouraged dh to contact the dermatologist because the incision from his cyst removal doesn't look as healed as I think. And he says it hurts and drains from time to time. It was done almost a month ago and a fear it may be infected, or have a retained stitch. He talked to the office and I emailed a couple of photos. I suspect he'll have to go in, but no one called back today.
Our little town has an art commission and budgets to purchase and display sculpture. The latest sculptures have neighbors on Facebook up in arms. They look like something from Dr. Seuss to me and I rather like them. But lots of people call it a waste of money and it's better to fix potholes that put up art. By my calculations, it cost less than $1 per resident and I'm all for it. Oh well, it gives them something else to complain about besides how the stop lights are timed, LOL.
Hey, all.
I did it again. I've become really lazy on weekends. I did lead the hymns at church Sunday. And grilled food for the family.
Friday I attended an infection prevention conference in OKC, at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, which when I was growing up was the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and that's still how I think of it. Hearing speakers on infection control makes you think we can never keep anything truly clean. LOL.
My knee injury from the San Diego trip was doing much better but now is swollen and sore again.
Friday was cool, about 45 degrees when I left for OKC but then warmed up through the weekend. And rained again this morning. We've had a lot of rain over the last couple of weeks.

Tweety it's understandable that you would have questions after the death of a patient, I hope you can find the time and space to work through those
Stars glad you will get some respite later this week
Dianah I made a recipe with a whole chicken, leeks, port wine, and kalamata olives. Turned out pretty good
Got the crock pot recipe started yesterday morning fairly early, decided I would try and get out bird watching before church since the weather was nicer than yesterday. Though it would be a bit tricky getting home again and getting to church on time. Then I got a text from my friend D that she wouldn't be at church this Sunday, so I decided to skip today too. Which was good as I got lost on the way home and would have been late
Took the time instead to do laundry and run errands. Exercised and took it easy in the evening, except for an online event with the over 50 group
Today planning to attend an event at the library with the gay group making buttons. otherwise nothing special planned for today
Going to be a bit cooler today, in the lower 50s I think with rain expected
