Tweety thanks for sharing the pictures

Stars glad the knee is better

NJ22 hope today is less blah

Ado I tried growing tomato plants once but they didn't last

Yesterday decided to go birdwatching before church, as this was the last Sunday before they switch to an earlier service during the Summer.  Had a nice time, got back home in time for church and a meeting of the evangelism committee afterwards.  Went well but was fairly long

After church was quieter, ran an errand or two.  Made a new recipe, spaghetti with anchovy that I saw on YouTube with Jacques Pepin.  Hope it turns out OK

Today after work meeting with the leader of the environmental  group to talk about what things we might do in the future

Will be warm again today, in the low 80s

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Growing up around here we would frequently have sausage and grits for lunch.  Not a fan

Took a short hike this morning.   Really nice day.

"Gadfry P. Sakes and his left-handed brother!" (an exclamation from the POGO cartoon, spoken by an upset Al the Alligator)

I am exhausted! Did the checkbooks this morning; hubby's and mine came out TO THE PENNY! That doesn't happen very often! Nannie's checking acct says she has something like $900 difference (to her favor) from what I had figured. I've been slack about staying up with it, so I'll have to get out some of her statements and track it down. Bleh. But not now!

Hubby told me that I may think he doesn't notice all that I do here, but he said he is aware that I'm carrying almost everything on my shoulders. He has just actually gone to the eye doc's office to get his glasses straightened out! So I can cross one of the items off his 'honey-do' list!

He had a talk w/ Nannie, saying that she needs to NOT make up her bed when she gets up, because she does that and then sits down on top of the covers---with her wet pull-up and 2 pads still on her, which are SOAKED! Thus, she transfers that wetness to all the stuff under her. I know someone here on AN, a while back, made a suggestion about an outer cath-type thing, but it wouldn't work with her! Honest to Pete, she can NOT open her legs in order to get to where it would be placed. Truly! When I put her shoes on while she is still laying in bed, I have to take her feet and place them at least six inches apart so I can get the shoes on her .... and once I do that, those feet just come back together like they are on a bungee cord, and I have to separate the feet AGAIN before I'm through. Washing of her 'area' is done with, um, the braille method...because you can't SEE that area. I pity whoever might have to place in an indwelling, or even an in+out method cath.

I think the Braves won their last game but I'm not sure of the actual score. Too lazy to check on that right now.

Last night we watched the Finale of the American Idol show, and the guy from Hawaii won. Nannie kept saying "Boy, he's FAT." I answered her twice, "Ya think so?" and after that I didn't respond. And during the News, she just has to talk. Why can't she talk when the commercials come on, because that's when I mute out the sound. She says important things like, "If he/she knew what their hair looked like, they wouldn't wear it that way." I do assume that those people DO know what their hair looks like; a lot of it is the current style. She doesn't even remember when she wore that AWFUL beehive hairdo. (That's the 'do' that my nephew once saw in a photo and said, "Marge Simpson!")

Hubby is going to pick up take-out suppers while he is out, because, then *I* don't have to do anything else but rest for the remainder of the evening. Good luck with that, huh?

Thanks for the pix, Tweety. (No knees showing, though, in the one of you. But that's okay).?

I'm going to go out to fill the birdfeeders.

HUH! I can't fill the birdfeeders, because the birdseed is in the car, which hubby has taken on HIS errands! So I guess I'll just rest here until supper arrives!

I woke up a gentle rain falling this morning, which dh's newly planted garden can use. I went for a run, and the rain picked up! I think I was thoroughly soaked by the time I was finished. Then home to change and go to sis's PCP appointment. Except they started early, and I missed it. I wanted her to ask about vertigo, so she is going to send a message through the patient portal. The cardiologist thought she had that positional kind you treat with Epley maneuvers, but he saw her via video and couldn't do an exam. I don't think that's what it is. She did get an RX for migraines, which seems to trigger some bad nosebleeds. I was going to stop by my old job to say hi, but only the OCD coworker was there and I wasn't in the mood to hear her complaints about the new computer charting, and how everyone works remote and she has no support, ie, no one to hold her hand.

Dh has been fussing with the travel trailer. We need to take it somewhere to flush the antifreeze out of the water tanks. He could do it by himself, but he won't.

I find myself going in the bedroom more and more to watch TV because dh and ds will not stop talking during the few shows that I enjoy. I need to run down to the pharmacy to pick up dh's order. I missed the message he sent while I was out to ask me to them up.

Nice pictures!

Tweety, we aren't Southerners, as evidenced by how we eat the grits: dh adds maple syrup and craisins; I add butter and brown sugar.   Love the photos!

No Stars, so what's for dinner??  Mr. No Stars got one point in his favor, at least, when he recognized how much you do to keep things running.   Oh, and good for him, that he went to get his glasses straightened out!   Kudos to you for balancing, not one, not two, but THREE checkbooks/ledgers!  I don't know how you do it!!

Dh went to his Optometry appt today, and received confirmation that yes, he does indeed have cataracts, which will need to be "fixed."  He'd figured that was the case, considering he can see signs when driving but is unable to READ them (I do that).  The Optometrist he sees isn't in our medical network, so he will have to contact his PMD to get things rolling for surgery.  My eye appointment is Wednesday.  I shouldn't hear of any surprises, as not much has changed with my vision, and I already had bilat. cataracts removed.

After dh got home with the car, I did a couple errands and picked up the mail at the Post Office.

I brought in the largest stalk of the basil, and combined it with grape tomatoes, provolone cheese, dry oregano, and S&P, for lunch.  It was yummy!  I chopped the basil, and froze probably 2/3 of it.  Now I just have to remember that it's there, and use it!

Have a good evening!

We had a lovely 'feast' of a hot dog with chili and mayo, and tater-tots.

I didn't balance three checkbooks, just one. But still, as I have always hated math, it is an excruciating chore to have to do two checkbooks every month.

Braves lost to Dodgers tonight 8-6. Tomorrow there is another game w/ same teams.

Nannie stayed up 'til 11 PM again tonight, she watched the whole ballgame. After her breakfast today she slept until supper, and then again until I woke her up a bit after 8 PM to watch the ballgame. She was worn out. (which is good.)

I saw in a review of an artist's exhibit in THE WEEK magazine. He showed a "bloated IV bag" with the ingredients listed as "Espresso, Adderall, and Red Bull", and the bag was titled "Overtime Drip" . ?

I had a coworker that got busted for taking unprescribed Adderall.  Never saw her again.

Red Bulls are wildly popular with younger coworkers.   I like coffee.

I like coffee, too. Though when I took phentermine as a weight loss aid (yeah, I still wanted to eat) I did think it made me think more clearly and focus better. People on cocaine probably think that, too.

We contract with a certain health professional who is always super-cheerful and super-energetic. When I met him, I said later that I wanted some of whatever he's on. "Is it Red Bull? Is it cocaine?"... ?
