Tweety patients like that can be trying

Dianah it is a local production and it was a good performance

NJ22 hope the rain ends before your trip

Stars hope your nerves settle

Ado that was good of the dog to alert them

Was a fairly busy day yesterday too.  Had church, then lunch with J, then we saw The King and I.  Liked it a lot better than Evita.  Relaxed the rest of the day.  Wish I hadn't done baking this weekend, it added to what was already a busy weekend

Weather was finally cooler, in the 60s and 70s

This will be a short week for me, leaving for  Madison on Fri.  Which is good after how busy last week was.  Will start getting ready but packing should be brief as it will only be 1 night.  Might rain Fri, but we'll see

Will be in the 70s again today and quite dry.  Will be in the 60s and 70s most of the  week, which is more normal for this time of  year

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.  I loved the movie the King and I when I was a kid, but never saw the production.

Ado, cool that Dora alerted that gma was outside.

Stars, hope the knee continues to feel better and that Nannie returns to a reasonable sleep schedule.

Dianah, hope DH feels well enough to go to Disney.

J22, always good to have something to look forward to.

I've been to Palm Springs this time of year and it was over 100 degrees every day.  I don't get the "but it's dry heat" thing because 100 is hot.   I did some hiking and enjoyed my time there but it was hot.  Didn't bother me much because I'm use to hot muggy summers here and I found the cooler dry evenings very pleasant.

Having 6:1 ratio is not very comparable to deal with mental health issues I agree.  I did try to sit with the anxious patient and hear her out but it didn't quite make sense but was thankfully interrupted by her surgeon who could get an earful of her somatic complaints.  I think what bothered her was she had a CT scan to check out her surgical progress and her complaints and it found nothing wrong to justify her complaints and instead of feeling relief she got anxious. He anxiety was intense with her all tensed up and shaking and crying.   He ordered her some IV valium but it didn't seem to touch her as she's used to benzos.  But he told her it was discomforts from surgery and there were no complications.  No one dismissed her concerns or complaints. Otherwise it turned out to be an okay day and got out on time.

Meeting my sister and her daughter for lunch.  I guess their "on again off again relationship" is in the on again phase.  Not my circus, not my monkeys.

Stars, I hope your knee is feeling better. Whack-a-mole is how I used to describe my shifts at the big hospital. ?

J22, sorry about the need to go through getting another pacemaker. Glad you found a cardiologist who takes time to listen and thoughtfully respond. Hoping this one won't be as uncomfortable/unpleasant.

Tweety, you have my permission to unload here if you're feeling down. I commiserate with dealing with the anxious patient while also having 5 others to take care of.

Joe, we saw The King and I at Beef and Boards in Indianapolis (*years* ago) and I also loved the movie.

Hi, dianah and all!

We didn't get to watch the eclipse because it was too cloudy. Funny, we have days and days of unrelenting BRIGHT sun and clear skies but as soon as there's something interesting to see there are clouds. Now we are back to that BRIGHT sun. So I did a jigsaw puzzle with Gma. She gets a piece every now and then. She also stuffs pieces in her pockets so when we got "finished" and still had missing pieces we had to shake her down for the lost ones! ?

The choir sang a hymn at church and there was a reception for our one high school graduate and for our choir director who just graduated from the university. She's staying at the same school for her master's so I hope that means she will continue to be our choir director. I think that's the plan.

Fri night I went to the wildlife rehab. There are lots of babies, especially birds, and the staff has a lot to do so they were thankful for help. I did a lot of little random things -- cleaned 2 bird cages, washed dishes in the songbird room, swept a couple of rooms, folded some laundry.

Hello all!

I saw photos of the eclipse, doubted we could see it in our area so I didn't go out to look.

Ado Annie, bless you for helping out at the wildlife rehab!  I'm sure they are extremely thankful for what you can help with!  Hope your choir director stays, it's nice to have staff stability.

Tweety, good you got out on time, and have a good lunch today with your sis and niece.

Joe, good you enjoyed The King and I.  Woo-hoo, Madison coming up!

Dh woke up sicker today than yesterday, so we cancelled plans for Disneyland.  I called to cancel our reservation and unfortunately, they could only cancel the restaurant reservation, not the park, on the "day of."  But it doesn't count against us, or prevent us from re-scheduling.  We are blocked off for most of the Summer, which is OK with us as it's generally too hot to be standing in lines there!  We prefer to go other times of the year.  I am getting some things done here at home, instead of going to the parks today.  It's all good.

Tomorrow I will have lunch with my/our long-time friend, C.  She retired a couple years ago, and we are trying to make up for lost time, now that I have retired!

That's all for now.  Have a good day!

I too missed the eclipse. It was cloudy here, and truth be told, I fell asleep. We went to a memorial service for dh's second cousin. Very sad. Did get to see dh's many cousins. They seem to think we should have a big party this Summer to celebrate dh and my retirement. Plus, they want to get together for a reason besides someone's passing. So perhaps August. Today is overcast yet again, but slightly warmer. It sure doesn't feel like May.

Argh, I just realized I need to make a home visit, so need to cut this short. Take care! Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Too many heavy clouds here last night to see the eclipse; I can see it on-line, but y'know, you've seen one you've seen them all~

Joe, I'm glad J felt well enough to go out. Glad you liked The King and I; I loved the movie, but it would be interesting to see it on stage. Enjoy Madison!

Tweety, Lucky that the surgeon rescued you from that patient's room! It seems that patients sometimes HAVE TO think the worst...and then again, there are patients who WON'T see what they need to have taken care of. (Thinking of hubby here, w/ his c/o his stomach/gas/bloating. The charco-caps help some of the times, but this has been going on for a couple of months now. I keep telling him he needs to go to a GUT-doc!)

Ado, Good Dog, Dora! I give thanks that Nannie is beyond the wandering stage; now she just sits like a lump in her recliner. That's a lot less trouble. We did go through the stage where she was always 'packing'  the awfullest weird collection of her stuff and then throwing it into the car. She used to try to start the car with the house key; now she has no keys and seems to have forgotten the "I want to go home" complaints.// I told hubby that I am turning off the TV after the ballgame is over, and on the evenings when there is no game, I am turning the TV off at 10 PM. I get so tired of Her Lumpness always just BEING there ALL THE TIME! // Wish there was a wildlife rehab place around here (ie NOT in the big city, where I hate to go/drive) I wouldn't mind cleaning rat and mouse cages, or something else. I enjoyed my job at the museum in Nashville even though the pay was terrible. I just liked being with the critters!

dianah, Hope your dh feels better soon.

j22, I am glad that all of hubby's older relatives (except Nannie) have all passed and none of the dopey cousins seem to want to have a reunion. They always had it in AUGUST, which has HORRIBLE heat and humidity there in South Carolina. I used to wonder WHY they had to have it in August! But that's a moot point now.

Oh JOY! Out Happy Weatherman says we are going to be "basking" in the heat this week -- mid 90's. Not much by way of humidity, thank goodness, so only a very slight chance of rain or storms until the weekend, when the clouds will pile up and rain again.

ARGH! So many political ads on TV now, and we have to put up with them until November? That's cruel punishment! Fortunately *I* have control over the remote, and the mute button was invented especially for ME!

It is time for the Network news. I want to see it, but hubby is down here in the den and he talks back to the news and has to make loud comments about the people (politicians, gov't folks, etc) in the news; we have already heard them hundreds of times. I could probably recite the comments along with him. Oh well, oh well.

I didn't go out to the store today, looked at the list and decided it could wait. Worked on the checkbooks and paid bills. That may hurt my head, but at least it doesn't stress my knees!

Stay well!

Stayed a bit late at work to finish reporting our staff Covid vaccination rates to NHSN, which *should* then transfer to HQR so that CMS will, we hope, not dock our reimbursements. I did the best I could, again without help. I asked the HR rep weeks ago for the information. She said in an email that she committed to getting it to me by my deadline. I reminded her last week that today was my deadline. Crickets. So I used what info I had and just made it work.

Gma is eating alone at the table because she refused to come eat with me and Twin A and Twin B. "Not with that bunch". I guess we are a disreputable crowd.

Hubs bought our deceased neighbor's 2005 Chrysler Sebring convertible from her son. For a cheap price. But it seems to have multiple problems and a poor prognosis. What's one more junky car to add to the mix?
