Tweety here's hoping the Summer there isn't too bad

Dianah I think it's a wooden picket type fence.  Hope you  feel better

NJ22 hope you feel better

Stars yay  for the new computer

Quieter day for me yesterday.  Did laundry, went to church, and rode my bike.  Have started listening to classical music again.  While I was on vacation I listened to the local NPR station which doubles as a local classical music station.  We'll see if I stick with it

Decided I'm going to try and go caffeine free and see if that helps me stay calmer.  Have done it in the past but always went back to caffeine

Hoping for a quiet return to work, hopefully not many emails.  Someone is out today so there will be extra work most likely

Will be in the 60s and 70s this week, rain later in the week

Good morning!

Joe, good luck with going caffeine free.  Hope you don't get too much extra work.

J22, sorry you're feeling under the weather and hope you have a good conference.  I like Palm Springs.

Stars, how nice that your husband acknowledges how much you love your computer to get you a knew one so quick.

Dianah, I do hope you got some sleep.

I didn't sleep well myself last night.  Meh, at least I'm off today.

I have my phone for the internet when the internet goes down in my house but if I didn't have any internet I would definitely go through DT's.

I really am hoping to get my new homeowners insurance policy today.  My other one expires on Friday.  The application is in but the policy not written.

I used an Amazon gift certificate to rent a movie "As They Made Us" which stars Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergman.  Excellent movie.

Slowbro's one eye seems to be losing vision due to his cataract.  Can't believe I have two visually impaired dogs.  This is the first time I've had two elderly dogs at the same time.  Usually it's one old and one young.

Nothing much happening here today.

Coming up on our early suppertime...

Tweety, I agree that it was very nice of hubby to go get me a new laptop! He said it keeps me out of his hair (HA!). And he said it is good for me to "keep in touch with your AN friends" and my sister/brothers. Since we don't go anywhere or do anything, there's no place to make friends. I know I was about to go see about the events, clubs, and activities at the Senior Center, just when COVID came down hard and everything in the area closed down. That center opened back up, but now we are getting another widespread Covid sweep here and it hasn't 'peeked' yet. Hubby spends a lot of time on the phone staying caught up with everyone, but he's always been like that. I am not much of a telephone person, at all!

I can't believe I haven't got any dogs or cats at the present moment! I'd just as soon adopt an older cat but hubby seems to want a kitten. My idea being that an older cat would be more settled and not be likely to climb Nannie's drapes! Well, we'll see what occurs on the question of felines; sometimes the adoption possibilities just present themselves out of nowhere, and you suddenly have a pet. Many of my previous pets were strays that found ME! And I have adopted cats from a shelter before, with great success.

We have had intermittant shower downpours and thunderstorms all day, I even had a tornado warning on my phone, but nothing came of it, thank goodness!

Supper has arrived; I'll be back later on to see who has shown up in the meantime.

Stars, kudos to your dh for handling the computer situation so well! Oh, kittens are so very cute they're hard to resist, but I can understand the appeal of an older, more settled cat (and they need homes, too) that might not climb the drapes. ?

Joe, glad our trip went well even with the rain. Hope you have had a peaceful work day.

dianah and J22, I'm so sorry you're sick or sick & allergic. Sending healing thoughts.

Per the CDC our covid numbers are going up but we're not seeing it at the hospital. I hope we don't. There was a young man in the ER the other day with body aches and fevers up to 102, unvaccinated, who refused a swab. I think they tested for flu and he was negative. I'll betcha he has Covid.

My phone is an LG and we use T-Mobile and this appears to be a problem as of yesterday. Twin B was the first to notice he was having problems, starting early yesterday, and Hubs and I started having problems last night. Not sure what Twin A's situation is, nor even if he has an LG phone. Every couple of seconds an error window pops up saying something about "LG IMS has stopped". I haven't received any phone calls and don't know if I can. I can't place calls. I can, apparently, send and receive texts by being extremely patient with the constant popup window. I'm relieved, because the nurse manager is on vacation this week and I am on call for clinical needs in Med/Surg or ER. It would be terrible if they had to send the police to my door or something... ?

Went to the wildlife rehab last night and they didn't need a lot of help, unlike my last couple of visits. Did some dishes and scraped bird poo off some towels.

Ado, I hope your phone gets fixed.   You have to wonder about people that come to the ER and then refuse testing.  A covid positive would have given him information and perhaps medication to help him.  No he knows he might have covid and doesn't care about spreading it around unless he's smart enough to self-isolate.  Shaking my head.

Took me a while to get motivated today but went to the gym and mowed the grass before the battery died in my electric mower.

Stars, it does sound like a new animal companion is in your near future.  ?

Hi. My head-yuck seems to change day to day, almost hour to hour. I now think it is allergies, after all. It improved when we traveled to the campground, and then came back with a vengeance as we approached home last night. At one point, youngest ds and I both groaned as we felt the congestion hit at the same time, with aching sinuses and watering, stinging eyes. I got some Sudafed last night, took some last night, and this morning. It's helping, but landing at Palm Springs this morning triggered so much pressure in ears. Now I'm hoorifice and I have squishing sound in my ears. But no cough, and no sneeze. I spent some time by the pool. My original plan was to explore, but its too hot to go very far. And I have no energy, at all.

Dianah, that was a sweet thought to meet for a visit, but you need to take of you!

Stars, kittens are pretty cute, but yeah, they can be destructive. I think I would opt for a mature kitty too. And a big pat on the back for your hubby.

Joe, I hope your work load was manageable today. I would have trouble cutting out caffeine, though I've cut back. I started a beta blocker 2 weeks ago, and it has helped my racing thoughts.

Tweety, my dog's cataracts seem to be affecting his sight. He trips a little running up our stairs, but he doesn't seem to notice other dogs and bark at them.

Ado, that is bothersome about your phones. It it something to do with 5G? Can you contact the carrier? It would give the neighbors something to talk about if the sheriff arrives to take you to work, LOL.

I'm not sure what I'll do for dinner. This hotel doesn't have a full restaurant, but says it has a bar with appetizers. That may to do for tonight. I'm not a big eater, anyway.

Woo hoo, glad you made it safely, nursej22!  Hope the allergy-thingy improves, that's got to be miserable (especially flying with it)!

Ado, I too hope your phone gets fixed!  My last phone was an LG, and I have Tmobile service.  The LG just got too old and outdated.  Have you gone to customer service (611?), to see if there's a local or systemic issue?  Perhaps the Tmobile site would have that too??  Very frustrating!

Tweety, hope Slow-Bro's cataract issues are painless for him.  Animals seem to adapt to disabilities (better than we do, for the most part).  Yes, having two older animals opens the door wider for older-age issues, unfortunately.  You are a good doggy-dad!!  Did you sign up for your new household insurance?

Dh got up early today to drive oldest ds to the Big City Courthouse, so he could report for jury duty.  When he got home, he fed the cats, and then ds texted he was dismissed, so dh went back to pick him up and return him home.  THEN he took a nap!!

I slept a little.  We played with the Jamkazam jam.  We also got a call from the luthier: my guitar is DONE!!  He said it sounds great, has the rich sound of an older Martin guitar, rather than a 1989!  I am so excited to get it back!  He will be in the area a week from Friday, so we will meet him at his hotel and pay him and pick up the guitar.

I have heard water swishing in my left ear for at least a week now (before I picked up this cold/flu thingy).  Today I instilled a 50/50 solution of vinegar and rubbing alcohol, left it for a couple minutes.  Then later I noticed: the swishing is GONE!  I didn't think it would help that quickly but I am not complaining!!

Throat still parched (drink lots of water), still have coughing fits but they ARE diminishing.  I just don't want them to happen AT NIGHT, it's SO hard to get good sleep (so I can heal!!) when the fits happen at night.

OK, enough complaining!  Have a good evening!
