Hi Rose Queen

Morning was rain free yesterday so I went for a walk after breakfast.  Then went to church early to get set up for coffee hour.   Then stayed for coffee hour and did the clean up

The rest of the day was pretty quiet, just did some cooking and ran an errand to two.  Rained most of the day so was a good day to stay in

Today should be another rainy day too.  Nothing unusual going on.  Should be fairly cold, in the mid 40s

When my daughter was a toddler, she used to eat my houseplants. Actually, she ate a lot of weird things, like lipstick, and Ben Gay, and raw beef. She was otherwise, a happy healthy child, but houseplants were absent in our home for a few years, LOL. 

The weather is overcast today, and cooled off to the 50s. I've been out for a jog, and a dog walk. dh wants me to go shopping with him to get meat. And I see him creating a list of other things, which means a day a driving around. Sigh, I guess I will be the dutiful companion and go with.

Slept late, got Nannie up, and oh joy, she was soaked from shoulders to knees, so there is a big load of laundry going on right now. After she was 'sanitized' ? and dressed, we joined the baseball game at the beginning of the second inning, Braves were ahead 6-1. It is now the bottom of the 6th inning and the score is Braves 6 and Mets 5. Sometime within the 4th or 5th inning, Nannie started seriously sleeping, and now has her head on her right shoulder. There is another game that follows this one, so maybe she will wake up at some point and get as confused as usual.

Hubby remains out in the Ford watching some Bounty Hunters on his smart-phone. 

It is very sunny, very windy, and the temp is somewhere in the mid to upper 60's. And it is chilly down here in the den, so I'm going upstairs to get a light jacket.

Hubby just came back inside, so I will close out for now.

Pretty plant, J22. 

We finally have sunshine again. The last 2 evenings Hubs has decided we should take the convertible out to the city lake and watch the sunset. It's cool enough we run the heater to keep our toes warm ? 

I've finished everything that had to be done by midnight tonight. Need to verify I've got some other things up-to-date (I think so) but they are due 5/15. 

Yesterday afternoon our church had a short joint service with 2 other UM churches in the area. Turns out my cousin did the "sermon" since their pastor who was going to do the message was not able to be there. Very small attendance but nice event. Our choir sang. And there were yummy treats. 

Twin A finished his paper and I thought it was actually pretty good. We'll see what his instructor thinks.

Since it is May 1, I am recommitting to the whole weight loss thing. Which reminds me that I need to go pick up a grocery order. Finally got the refrigerator cleaned out (how does it get so bad?) and made a list.

G'day!

It's National Jockstrap Day.  Who knew? 

Worked an overtime shift today and it was a relatively good day even though it was 6:1 ratio.  First good day on the floor in a long long time.  Glad to have it as it was my third 12 hour shift in a row.

Oooo, Tweety, third shift in a row??  Hope you at least have tomorrow (or more) off to recuperate.  So glad it was a "relatively good day."

Ado, kudos to you for getting everything done!  Nice to enjoy sunsets, though keep your toes warm!  Sending encouragement for "the weight loss thing," I need it too but haven't committed yet.

No Stars, hope your team won!  Hope Nannie is changed and dry and in bed by now.

We have had a quiet day.  We have tried to make reservations for a bluegrass event in November, at Carlsbad-by-the-Sea Hotel.  This will be the third year for this event, and we have enjoyed it in the past.  Stayed in the hotel one night last year, and that was fun.  Reservations opened up at 10am today, with a special code.  All the rooms are sold out, per the person I spoke with at the hotel desk.  He said they are discussing with the organizers about adding more rooms, and suggested I call again tomorrow morning.  If there are no rooms available, we may just ask if we can park our RV in the parking lot, and will stay there.  I think they let ppl do that last year, and charged $10 per night.  Supposedley, there were rooms available in a 24/7 jam area, and other rooms in a "quiet after 10pm" area.  Both were available at a special rate for members of the bluegrass associations (which we are).  Rates were substantially lower than "regular" rates.  We'll see what we can work out tomorrow morning.
