Good morning!
Stuffed peppers sounds good. Hope you have a good day Joe.
I'm getting ready for working 3 12's in a row. I'm dreading it and know I did it to myself but bleh.
Thought that I too would share some pictures. These are pics of my outing to the beach last evening for sunset. Lots of people out since it was a Sunday.
Gorgeous sunset there, Tweety. I guess you are the mysterious dark figure in the 2nd pic?
Well. Hmmm. The doc's appt today: Going to continue hubby on Ativan 2 mg q 6 hr and he goes back on Thursday for follow up. The doc said it was likely the withdrawal was what was messing with hubby's sleep. I said he is VERY depressed. I thought it would help hubby to go to a psych, but doc says the 'soonest' he could probably get an appt w/ a psychiatrist would be 5 or 6 MONTHS! So, there is a counselor there at doc's practice that hubby could see, but he told the doctor, "Let me think about it..." ? What's to think about? I also said he needs to finds some AA mtgs he can attend, even though he doesn't feel it would be of any help to him. Ppfftt! He might be surprised at how some camraderie with folks who know exactly what he is going through, would be good for him. Oh well, we all know even if you lead that dern horse to water, it don't mean that spavin will drink....water.
So, so-so-so. Now hubby has "gone to the gun shop" to chat with the guys there. I asked, "You aren't going to stop at the ABC store, are you?" He said he wasn't. Last drink he had, he says, was Friday morning. Hmmm. Well, I guess we'll see what we see IF we EVER see it!
I am taking a few quiet minutes to myself here, while hubby is out. Not going to get Nannie up until I finish my SUBWAY 1/2 sandwich. She'll have the other half of the sub to eat after I get her settled in her recliner.
Going to scan the news-feeds and see what's been going on overnight. Tawk whichoo laydah--------
Hello to all!
Those photos are beautiful, Tweety! So glad you are able to enjoy the beach as often as you do. I'm sure it does good things for your spirit. Congratulations on your years of sobriety!!
Joe, that was a busy day yesterday!
It should be in the mid-60's today, clear. Next storm is predicted for Tues and Wed. With that storm, the Sierras' year's snow totals will surpass any previous records. And the snow year isn't over yet.
Well, heard yesterday that a little festival we were planning (along with friends) to go to, was cancelled. Bummer! This was to be the first year we'd attended that festival, though friends had spoken highly of it in past years. Maybe, in future years, it will be revived.
Some months ago, we made plans to attend the big Father's Day Bluegrass Festival, about 7 hrs' drive, in Grass Valley. Then the little festival the weekend following it. It would have been a 2-3 hr drive further up north, to the little festival. But the little festival -- in Susanville -- wasn't scheduled at the time we made our reservations for the big festival. So we had made reservations to leisurely drive down 395 after the festival, and camping at some favorite spots. Well, I guess those plans will hold. EXCEPT! We will likely not be able to camp at Mammoth Lakes, as we'd wanted -- though we do have reservations. BUT the campground will likely be FULL of snow, still! So this drive down will be an adventure. ?
We attended the wedding yesterday afternoon. It was beautiful, held at an outdoor venue for just such activities -- and full of the bride's and groom's personalities! The ceremony was sprinkled with anecdotes from the couples' meeting and their relationship development. Then there was a cocktail-and hors d'oeuvres time, while photos were taken. Then we went in to the hall, to sit at tables, waiting for the arrival of the bridal party/introductions. There were lots of toasts, and while the food courses began to be delivered, the bridal party circulated around and visited.
We sat at a table with a pediatrician and her daughter and her daughter's friend, and one other young woman whose name I never got. It was just too noisy most of the time to make polite conversation! THAT is my one criticism, and that is from an "older" person (ME!) who has tinnitis!! Music was JUST. TOO. LOUD. We got some reprieves here and there, which were nice.
As we arrived around 3pm and the wedding started at 4pm, we left the dining hall to go home around 8:30, just when they were opening up the dance floor. We very much enjoyed the whole experience (except the abovementioned sound complaints). Made a new friend (the pediatrician), who will probably invite our band to play at her little church, in the future. Met some other ppl too, who are thespians. People are interesting!
Of course, ppl gravitate towards dh, with his long white beard. And, for this, he dressed dapper with a tall top hat and a cane. And he can talk with anyone. ?
Today? Rest! I should go to the grocery store, to get a couple things so I can make a meal that will last a couple days. This is our M.O.: either make a meal that will last, or order take-out, enough to last a few days. Lazy, aren't we??? ?
Oh, and I had grits for breakfast! YAY!
Have a good day!
Back to the office today. It is just plain COLD in my office, though it got up to 61-62 today outside. Way too many emails to try to sort through. Nursing resignations in the past 2 weeks: about 5. ?
I have some grits that were (partially) used for an e-meals meal (which I remember as being good). No idea what we'll do for dinner tonight.
Love the beach photos, Tweety.
Hullo, I had my ablation today.I apologize for the late post, but I think the anesthesiologist was overly concerned about pain--she wanted to give me tylenol pre-procedure! She also gave me 3 different anti-emetics because 20 years ago, I had a great deal of nausea and vomiting after an abdominal procedure. 20 YEARS AGO when inhaled anesthetics were used more. I think she gave me a boatload of meds, and I feel I will forget many details if I don't jot this down. Still woozy but can't sleep.
This will likely make the most sense to Dianah, I was having regrets that this wasn't going to have any effect on my lack of endurance when running, my very decreased running speed, and ringing head, nausea, and weak legs after the first mile. This was scheduled as an atrial fibrillation ablation, but I have never had a fib captured on a 12-lead.Doc has also mentioned an a flutter ablation, as that is what has been seen, but I've already had an ablation for that. Lo and behold, the foci were in atypical places, base of the left atrium, and a flutter in the left atrium and she got 'em. So doc and I have some hope that this may help.
tl;re (too long long, didn't read), the doc is hopeful and so am I.
Joe, what a productive day you had! I wish I could get on a bike. I have 2 wait 2 weeks, and the weather is finally getting nice.
Tweety, love the pics. You look quite svelte as a silhouette.
Dianah, that sounds like a lovely wedding. I took dislike loud noises, not because of tinnitus, I just don't like them.
Annie, my old office was cold enough to hang meat, as my mother used to say. I had a little forbidden space heater that I would turn on my feet, and fingerless gloves to wear so I could type.
Oh, NoStars, that sounds like a disappointing visit. Has Mr. Stars ever kept the second visit? I think I'll go to subway tomorrow. All I have eaten today, and all I want are saltines. Tummy just plain hurts. Too many freakin' meds?

Tweety 26 years sober is impressive
Dianah hopefully there's no flooding when all that snow melts
NJ22 thanks for sharing the pictures
Stars you're right, he wants a time out from life and doesn't want to face having to quit
Yesterday was good, less busy than Saturday. Did adult education at church, served as usher, and then had our evangelism meeting after church. Which was not as tiresome as I had predicted. Though I was a bit tired when it was done.
Came home and made stuffed peppers. Was planning to go outside for a walk but rain moved in so I used the exercise bike instead. Found out one of the groups has a meet very near me this week so I signed up to attend.
Today hopefully will be OK at work, at least we have no one out today that I'm aware of
Another fairly cold day in the mid 40s
