Dianah  does sound like a busy day

NJ22 that's a long race.  Thanks for sharing the picture

Stars a financial planner could be a big help with that

Ado when are you leaving for Arizona?

Tweety I don't  think I've heard of kamut

Church was interesting,  the minister was out with Covid and there was no time to find a replacement.  So we had an abbreviated service led by the assisting minister.  Had a fairly small crowd there

J's stomach was acting up badly enough that we decided to skip the musical.  J was very disappointed as he really wanted to see this one.  I was a bit disappointed as well, although not entirely surprised, his lack of reliability has been a constant as long as I've known him

So instead I drove out to the arboretum, walked around a bit, and visited the gift shop.  Before bed I put the crock pot recipe together and let it cook overnight

Will get up to about 50 today, a big change from the weekend

Good morning!

Joe, what did you make in the crockpot?

Didn't sleep well AT ALL last night.  Maybe two + hrs, from after 6am to close to 9am.   May nap today.

Made a banana pancake (I call it that), from a recipe I saw on FB.

Two bananas (smash well), two eggs, 1 Tbsp honey, 1/4 cup coconut flour.  Blend all, place in well-oiled and heated frying pan (they used olive oil, and spread it around the pan with a brush).  Cook, covered, on low 4 min.  Then loosen with spatula, and place plate over the pan, and flip the pancake onto the plate, then slide the pancake back into the frying pan and cook another 2 min.

Silly me, I went ahead and used my cast iron skillet, which I routinely use if frying eggs.  That sucker is HEAVY, to try and flip it over so the pancake goes onto the plate!!  But I did it, and survived.  This might be a good recipe for my friend, who is gluten-intolerant.  I would make four little pancakes, though, rather than trying to make the one huge pancake.  It would be easier to flip them.  Dh and I both enjoyed the pancakes!

Not much planned today.  I may make a set list for our upcoming April 1 program.  The program will pretty much be like a jam session, which we CAN do without a set list, but it's always nice for ME, to have a list of potential songs/pieces.  Ah, I hear dh on the phone arranging a second program, for April 2, for a Senior Brunch at a nearby church.  Well, it will be a busy weekend!

Have a good day!

Woke up saying, "Oh, crap!" ☹️

Then I got dressed, came downstairs and got Nannie up and dressed, gave her the AM pills, yogurt and juice, and gave ME a cup of coffee. It is too cold to sit outside, sun notwithstanding. It's 55 with NNW breezes, which translates to "BRRR!"

Nothing planned for today, though I SHOULD plan, and not just plan, but DO, because there are lots of things to do around the house, but nothing FUN or interesting! I was NEVER meant to be a housewife!!

Last week after I vacuumed all of downstairs, hubby had said to me, "Honey, put the vacuum cleaner away and I will vacuum the stairs and upstairs." Are they, have they, been vacuumed these many days later? NOPE!

Hubby is out in the Ford (his office). I wonder IF or WHEN he is going to start taking care of the driver's license thing, and the other things he has to take care of. Talk about someone who is a SLOTH! Egads! Every night he says (pitifully) "Stars, will you help me make up my bed?" More than anything, he needs a new box-Spring and mattress, but we don't have the dough-re-mi to buy it (I say, pitifully ?.)

Okay, enough whining for now-------

We're on our way to a park for a walk. Except it's starting to rain, and only 50 degrees. Oh well. I had a nice 3 mile walk/jog this morning, was only sprinkling. I have some reading to do for homework. I really need to vacuum. My seasonal allergies are starting to flair. I'm so glad I've had my pneumonia shot because that really seems to cut down on sinus and ear infections.

Good afternoon!

Joe, sounds like you made the best of the day.

Dianah, sorry about the insomnia.  You're in demand for your musical talent.  How cool is that?  ?

I'm lucky to have no allergies but it sure can make people miserable.  Some people here are allergic to stuff after moving here, like mango tree pollen the they don't have up north.

Stars, I don't have a lot of dough for furniture stuff I want/need.  It's never ending.

I spent a whopping $180 at the grocery store just now.  I did stock up on dog food and it's about $3.00 a can these days.  $80 on just that alone but we're set for a while.  I also got a some buy-one-get-one-free stuff.  I use their app to pay and clip coupons.   No wonder I'm depressed these days.

This is definitely a weird day!

Nannie has been talking in her sleep....conversing, laughing; and then  'washing' her face with the corner of her poncho, 'sewing' the poncho with no needle and no thread. She asked, "Is that girl walking down to the church?" (from her dream) but since she spoke clearly that time I answered her...."No." and she said "NO??? Why not?" I didn't tell her why not, and she went on to dream about something else.

Hubby came down into the den and asked me if I wanted to go pick up "dot-dogs" at What-A-Burger. I went up and got my wallet and keys and he came up asking me what I was doing. I said I was getting ready to go pick up supper. He said, "No, I said I'd go get the supper." (he didn't) Then when he called in the order prior to going to get it, he said more UH's and AH's like he hadn't just gone over with me about what he would order. I was in the background saying things like "slaw", and "chili" and "ONE large order of fries" to fill in his blanks and pauses. I don't know why he spaces out when calling in orders, but it happens all the time. It annoys him when I hand him a list I printed, so he could just easily read it over the phone. Guess he's had a slosh or two of vodka.

We are going to have another talk when he comes back. He HAS TO renew his driver's license! If he has an accident or gets stopped, that is a P.I.A. for me. I have no $$ to pay for his bail, and if my car is 'hurt' and/or gets impounded I will be even more furious. I hate calling someone "stupid" but he is being totally stupid about ALL of this. He told me he wished the doctor would put him in rehab....I said they don't PUT you in rehab you have to go in yourself. // Do you remember how crazy Daffy Duck used to shake his head so hard that he flung spit while he was growling (yeah, I know ducks don't growl)....that is how I feel now. Or maybe like Donald Duck throwing a hissy-fit.

About the "get your driver's license"..... his response to me was, "I know it." I told him 'knowing it' doesn't cover it legally. I also told him he doesn't need to be sitting outside in just his t-shirt and athletic pants; a person with lung diseases does not need to be courting pneumonia. Got another "I know it" from that. I went in and got his jacket and went out and tossed it over his back. "If you KNOW it, do something about it!"

I never wanted any children, but now I have TWO. This just sucks all the way around.

nursej22, love that photo of the lake!

Yesterday I did bake the "Black Magic Cake," and dh LOVED it.   It calls for (among other things ? ) 1 cup coffee and 1 cup buttermilk in the cake, and 2 Tbsp coffee in the frosting (which I doubled).   I also made a chicken noodle casserole (comfort food).  We enjoyed both yesterday and today, and there's more for tomorrow, yay!

I took some of the cake to my friend S, and we had a nice natter and exchanged recipes.  She gave me some frozen oatmeal cookie dough, dh will love it!  Well, he will love it when I bake the cookies up!

It has been cloudy all day, should rain tonight and for sure tomorrow, lightening up on Wednesday.  We will likely go to the jam at the museum tomorrow.

Have a good evening!

Hi Stars,

She was totally incontinent. They did all the changing and med administration and laundry etc. Which is why it cost 6k eventually. We just had to supply everything. They also got her up and dressed and took her to meals and all that stuff when she came to that point. I think we started out at 4k ish when it was just ALF apt, meals, and housekeeping.
