Dianah during the Summer we have only 1 service at 9am, normally we have 2, at 8am and 10am. I think it's the 18th we switch back to the 2 services

NJ22 it does often seem awkward, has gotten a bit easier since I started using smaller needles

Stars I had an odd dream last night, that someone was trying to scam his insurance company and framed me for it.  The dream fell apart and I woke up when I realized it didn't make any logical sense

Hi Ado

Yesterday was quieter for me.  Did laundry and went to church.  Big crowd because there was a baptism.  Found out the knitting group will be starting again, I think they meet twice a month.  Will have to make time for that

Baked some cookies from some already made dough I had previously made and frozen.  Worked on knitting, think I have figured out the purl stitch.  Looked up some CEUs, turns out my CT license is also up for renewal in November and I need two credits, found some online ones that should fit the bill

Talked to J, still having some issues with the allergy meds, will likely go back to  his old ones. Talked about maybe going over to his place today but decided that wouldn't be a good idea this time.  Will try again later in the week.  Going to have to be patient, as I have before

During a recent clean out I noticed I had some old lavender bubble bath I hadn't used in  years, so I tried it out last night.  Quite nice, and kind meditative, will have to do that again

Today will go out bird watching, hopefully it won't be muddy with yesterday's  rain.  Will do some cooking too, a Winter vegetable stew

Looks cloudy now but should be no rain, will be in the mid 70s again

Joe, hope you have a good day.

I had a weird dream the other day that my barber shaved my head bald but left the sides and I cried "I look hideous, like Phil McGraw!".  LOL

I did a few CEUs at work last week, but I'm wondering if I will even keep my license current after I retire. I think the state has a special rate for retirees, it might be handy for volunteer stuff.

I had another good nights' sleep, thanks to taking a pain pill. After my first pacer implant I wasn't given any, and I spent many a sleepless night because its so hard to get comfortable. It never fails to amaze me how restorative sleep can be. Dh wasn't talking to me last night or this morning, not sure why. He left this morning to go camping with the travel trailer for a few days, at least that's what he told youngest ds. He thinks he has to drive back on Thursday for a meeting, even though he was approved to take 10 days off, starting today. I know he wasn't happy because we didn't get his TV installed in the trailer yet. I plan on being a domestic goddess today, but I need to pace myself. Remember the convo about bruising the other day? Well, they accessed both my femoral arteries and veins, and attempted radial artery access, and I have tons of bruising now. And little showing up around my incision. Still, Im only a little tender, although it gets sorer through the day. And I've started watching a new (to me) series on Hulu called Killing Eve.

I hope J gets his meds straightened out. I hope he is working with an allergist. My dd has a mast cell disorder, and the doses she takes of antihistamines is crazy. Plus she has PRN prednisone for occasional hives.

You all have some crazy dreams! I seldom remember mine, which I suppose means they are pretty boring.

Annie, did you go to the Blues Festival at all?

Weather is cool, in the 70s. We had a skiff of rain yesterday, barely enough to settle the dust.

Do y'all have suggestions for keeping track of CEUs? I get them from random sources, it seems. Mostly from CMS, though, and they should have records that are easily accessible.

J22, we did not go to the blues festival. Moody man just wasn't in the mood. I've had a completely uneventful weekend (not that there's anything wrong with that) and read lots of Harry Potter. I'm about half way through the Order of the Phoenix. I must not have paid much attention to this one the first time I read it because I keep getting surprised by things I don't remember. Or maybe dementia is creeping in already.

Hubs' latest idea is for him and his mom to go stay with stepson and try to get him into treatment. How we're supposed to afford that I don't know. He has an appointment to talk to another attorney Wednesday morning. I can't participate because we're doing an all-day community emergency management training. Meanwhile sister-in-law and a niece are letting us know how worried they are.

I have lots of opportunities for CEUs through work. At work, I save PDFs of my certificates in an electronic file, and I file them by year. In our state, we only have to submit CEUs if we are audited and we are advised to keep copies for 4 years.

The CDC offers lots of free CE, which is handy for last minute requirements.

Florida has a website called CE Broker that tracks our CEUs.  If you participate you aren't audited because it's electronic.  There is a free version as well.  What I like about it is that I can take a CEU online and it's posted there automatically without me doing anything.   I need a lot of CEUs for my Med Surg Nurse Certification.

So far pretty lazy day for me.  Going to the gym here in a bit.  Had a nice long nap and feeling pretty good.  I have managed to clean the bathrooms.

I never re-read books, but if I did, I'm sure they would read like new.

I have ceased ALL labors today! Do I ever know how to celebrate, or what?!

It is in the low 70's, overcast and still kinda humid, but perhaps the rain will eliminate that.

No baseball games today, Nannie is having her usual nap-between-meals.

Hubby tried to order pizza, but apparently Pizza Hut has gone crazy today, as they said something about a 2 & 1/2 hour wait for deliveries. He was trying to find out when it might be ready if he went to pick it up himself. But, Pizza Hut actually has a pre-answering, pre-recorded announcement about how all workers are busy taking orders, and then they play ads, and periodically they say to stay on the line, and the calls may be recorded for quality control!  He has given up on them, and has placed an order w/ Little Cesar's to go pick it up. That just means instead of bone-out chicken, we'll get "crazy bread" (I'm not so crazy about that; there's already plenty of bread in the pizza crust.) but it also means we can get some of the sinfully sweet "baby m+m's"-brownies. (yes they have mini-m+ms on 'em).

Here's something odd that just happened: Nannie's space heater started making weird crackling/grinding sounds. I thought at first it was the oscillating feature, so I turned it off, and tried it again after a few minutes and it still makes the same sound no matter what it's set on. Don't feel like having an electrical fire this evening, so if it won't behave, we'll just throw another blanket over Nannie! Won't bother hubby if it's off, he says it's always hot down here anyway. Since I sit below an AC vent, it frequently feels chilly to me anyway. I offered to let hubby sit in my spot on the sofa but he says "No Dice!"

An otherwise 'meh' day and I hope it stays that way.

Stay safe and be well!

We had a real thunderstorm yesterday, lasted at least 30 min.  It was SO muggy!!  But dh and I went outside, stood under the porch, and enjoyed watching it come down and hearing the boomers in the distance.

Today it is 108 degrees.  I went out to do a few errands, and stopped by oldest ds's to drop something off and chat for a bit.  I cancelled our Disneyland reservations for tomorrow, as we are not keen on being there in this heat.  Another time, when it's cooler.

I can usually read a book twice, especially if it's been awhile since the previous reading.  I can ALWAYS read one of Jane Austen's books (and have read them several times)!  Some books, I don't care to read again.

nursej22, so sad to hear you have such bruising after the pacer upgrade.  ?  Hope you heal quickly.

I seldom remember any dreams.

Re: CEUs: I usually go with one company, and they keep track of what I have done in the past.  They usually mail me a booklet with 30 units (all that CA requires, every two years) for a set price.  I study the material and verify I did indeed read it. ?

Ado, sad to hear there is not yet a plan for stepson.  Continuing prayers for him and the family.

Well, that's all for now.  Have a good evening!
