NJ22 blueberries and raspberries sound good

Hi Ado

Somewhat quieter day yesterday.  Laundry and then church and then cooking.  Baked some corn bread too.  Was a cloudy but fairly cool day. Went for a drive in the afternoon, around the neighborhood  and surrounding  area.   Good time to think

In the evening did a live webinar for CEUs for one of my licenses, wasn't too bad

Was thinking about riding my bike but it developed a flat when I tried to pump it up.  Think it's a problem with the pump, its very hard to get  on and off the valve and I  think that damages the tires.  Thurs I'll take it to the bike shop

Going to be in the  upper  80s today,  should  be no rain

G'day.

Hi Joe, hope you have a good day.  Too bad about the recurrent flat tire.

Dianah, hope yesterday was peasant and quiet.

Stars, that's quite a "rat story".

J22, was reading an article about how your part of the country has avoided any heat wave this year.  I do remember though that when you do get a heatwave how miserable you are as you aren't used to it.  It's hard for me to imagine living somewhere in July where it's only in the 70's.

Ado, grilled brats sounds good.  That's the German in me.

Not much going on here.  I had trouble sleeping and got up at 5:00 AM.  I took a work related module on the new tube feeding ports that are becoming the standard, forget what it's called and failed the test....twice.   They don't go over what I missed and only allow two fails.  I find it hard to believe I failed but computers don't lie.  Oh well.....

Prepared a few side dishes I've found on Pinterest, a Greek potato salad, Korean cucumber salad, kalamata olive tampenade, and some marinated cherry tomatoes.  All good.

Need to go to the bank because the check for my insurance refund is too large to deposit by phone.  I'll use a good chunk of it to replenish my escrow.  Haven't been to the bank in a few years.

Have a good day.

Tweety, those dishes sound good. I did not sleep well, either. Partly due to that night shift/ day shift thing but also my generally poor sleep habits. My sister had some troubles with rats a couple of years ago in her house in San Antonio. It involved sealing the access points, etc. And she has multiple cats and dogs so somebody wasn't doing their job ? Sounds as if your rat was sick or injured, though. And one doesn't really want one's pet to kill a rat that's ingested rat poison, so I'm kind of joking about sister's pets.

The boys have been really irresponsible about the car keys (they blame Gma, but Gma can't squirrel them away if you don't leave them out where she will  pick them up!). Anyway, Hubs drove me to work this morning. And since all I had was a $20 and our cafeteria (which has a very limited selection anyway) doesn't like to make change for anything greater than a $10, I walked to the taco truck. Even though it's 95 degrees. I don't know how they work in there with the grill and everything. But the tacos were yummy and it's only $3 to get 2 of them. I usually leave a $1 tip and it's still a very reasonable price.

Yum, Tweety, those dishes sound wonderful. I grilled some tri-tip steak last night, nuked some frozen corn, thawed and reheated some homemade dinner rolls, and put some mixed greens in a salad bowl for dinner. Not too fancy, but easy, and easy clean up. I thought dh and I had a deal that I would do most of the cooking and he would clean up, but he seems to think that dishes can wait until Saturday. Oh well. With my poor sense of smell and taste, I don't get much enjoyment of using a lot of ingredients, it all pretty tastes the same to me. So I cook pretty plain.

I did get about a quart of blueberries from picking, and I'll drop them off to grandson this afternoon. I have an appointment to talk to a insurance agent about dh's medicare. Dh surprised me by offering to come along. He usually wants me to handle all that stuff.

I cut my run short this morning, for some reason, my feet were hurting. I forgot to take some tylenol before so maybe that had something to do with it. The weather continues to be gray and cool, its 11 am and still only 58 degrees. Yup, last year's hot weather was bad because air conditioning isn't standard. Or well-maintained. Some businesses had to shut because the HVAC broke down and there were enough technicians to fix them.

Joe, that really sucks about your continued bike flats. Hopefully, your bike repair shop can trouble shoot the problem.

Dh is not great about keys. We had hooks inside the closet, but he couldn't seem to remember to hang keys up. So now I have a bright purple metal bowl by the front door for keys. And sometimes he actually uses it!

Okay, Folks~

I went out to the bank and the the pharmacy and picked up sodas and juice.

Hubby called me 3 or 4 times thinking I should be coming home shortly. But with lines in the places I went were long and traffic on the road was was ridiculous. I also had to go to the fish house to pick up supper for Nannie and hubby.

When I drove in the driveway hubby was sitting by the Ford under the carport. I thought he was doing something to a tire. I went in with the food, fixed Nannie's supper plate, and got her set up to eat.

Went out to tell him his supper was on the table. He was having an awful time getting up. Then I saw blood on his face, elbows, and hands. The side of his right hand had a monstrous blood blister, both elbows had torn skin, pretty large areas. He had a small wound above his left eyebrow, which happened when he had knocked his glasses off and bent the ear piece.

I'm guessing it was booze that made him fall, though he said it was the damn sandals (clogs) that got caught on the edge of the car floor when he was getting out. Uh-huh.

I had to help him walk into the house, sat him down at the kitchen table, ran up to got a variety of bandaids and gauze pads and wraps, etc. Cleaned up everything and bandaged him up. He kept apologizing. My hands were shaking because I was sooooooo MAD.

I can't eat any supper right now because my stomach reacts to my tensions.

I took a Xanax so I wouldn't blow a gasket. Now I'm sitting down in the den w/ Nannie and the TV news. I told him he probably ought not to go down to the den where Nannie could see all the bandages. Right now he has gone over 2 houses to pay the guy who mows our lawn,. I told him that when he gets back he needs to go up to his room and lie down under the fan. He doesn't want any Tylenol , but I am betting he will in a short while.

Y'all-----------I just don't know. I have to stop here. Just....oh brother, y'know?

Now he says his ribs hurt but he won't go to the ER, though they couldn't do anything for that anyway. He said he had to go out and make sure the car door was closed and the cars were locked. I said I'd do it, but he said no. I think he keeps some booze out there. I hope he didn't drink anymore because he took 2 Ex Str Tylenol just before that.

I asked him and he denied he had been drinking, but then said he had taken a Xanax but didn't remember when. He had gone down to the den and dozed off in his recliner. An hour after that he woke up and said "Did we have supper?" I had put his supper in the fridge after he ate some right after I bandaged him up.

He's got to go tomorrow to get his glasses frame straightened out.

Now he's apologizing for falling. "It's so embarrassing to fall like that. I'm tired of it." To me it's so aggravating. Oh well.

Stars, I'm sorry. You have 2 people to take care of and one of them could take care of himself if he would. Though I'm not discounting the difficulty of quitting drinking. Maybe his provider was willing to let him try it on his own but will now push for some inpatient detox?

I just put together a Philly cheese steak casserole for a late supper. We'll see if it's as good as it sounded to me. I had some beef strips that we usually use for fajitas that I needed to make use of.

Stars, everything Ado Annie and Dianah said. Sending you a giant virtual hug. Should you perhaps reach out to hubby's doctor before he gets seriously hurt?

I'm going to try to talk with hubby tomorrow when I know he will be relatively sober. I wonder, is he taking the med they gave him to help squelch the desire for alcohol? Don't even know what it is.

Ahhhkerphlooey! ?

Thanks for being there, I mean it! It really helps to tell y'all, because I've certainly not got anyone here to talk with!
