OOoooooWheeeee! The guy who has the dog called me this morning (I made sure I was up early enough to be awake when he called!) He is going to bring her over after he gets off work, around 5 or 6 o'clock tonight. He said he and his wife think the dog was dropped off in the area, because apparently it had been wandering around in that neighborhood for a while before they took her in. But their dog, a mixed breed, is very jealous and has tried to attack the Chihuahua (well, he said he thinks there is another breed mixed with chihuahua.) last night,! So they are relieved to be able to get the dog a 'safe' home; I understand if the real owner contacts them, I am the 'foster parent' and will have to give her up, but they will require proof it is their dog before he'd relinquish it, But he thinks there isn't going to be anyone contacting him about her, and he is thinking she will probably be mine. She's very attached to him right now, but she will certainly become attached to me, I know. She is younger than Momo was and the guy said that when she is relaxed and their dog isn't around her, she is downright spunky! He hasn't taken her to the vet; all he knows is she looks like she has had puppies in the past because her 'feeding stations' are larger than they would be on a dog who'd not had puppies. Anyway, after talking to him, he said he is inclined to leave the dog with me tonight. ☺️ 😚 and that makes me very happy!
SiL will probably not be happy I am taking the dog, but that's her problem; she doesn't live here, and it's not her decision. She's 'worried' about the expense, you know, vet visits, probable spaying, shots and food, etc., but I have the Care Credit card that I used at the vet for Momo, and I am willing to forgo some of the spontaneous purchases I sometimes make, in order to have the money to take proper care of her.
I wonder what her name will be?
I believe she is "God's Dog" ... because about (less than) a week before I saw the notice in the Neighborhood Site on-line, I was feeling so bereft, I said, "God, I need a miracle, PLEASE!" And then, there was the post about her! Ask and ye shall receive!
Welp, I guess I will be back here posting about her later on this evening!
YAYYYYYY!!! 😋
G'day.
Stars, I was hoping that you would be able to be the dog's foster mom. All of my dogs have come from fosters. Hope if you bond she be happy in her forever home.
So I did wind up getting a new tire but forgot that I got the prior set there and I was covered under a warranty and I paid ZERO! Bad news was it took 2 hours. Really?
Anyway while I thought I might be on the mend I went to the bathroom 3 times at the tire place. I was going to talk to my doctor who the portal said is off. I was literally minutes away from our freestanding ER/Non-Urgent Care and made the decision to live up to my promise to myself to go the doctor if symptoms persisted a week. Long story short all my labs were good but I was dehydrated and they gave me a liter of fluid. I was able to give a sample and results are than I have an infection but not the dreaded c-diff. It's one of those that are cutting back antibiotics on to avoid creating an MDR organism, so they aren't doing anything just yet.
I'm going back to my regular high fiber diet and going to continue letting it run it's course and contact my doctor in a week if it persists.
Now you know TMI. LOL
Had a nice long nap this afternoon and will be going to the gym and resume my life.
toomuchbaloney said:NSIME you'll need to share a photo. Sounds like you'll need toys. Maybe she'll earn a spice girl name.
I will get someone to show me how to send a photo to this site, because I have never done that before. Only camera I have is on my flip->not-smart<-phone, but someone at the cellphone carrier place should be able to help me.
Only Spice Girls names I am familiar with are Scary, and Posh. Who are the other two? Or were you thinking of ....like....Cinnamon, or Cumin, or Cardamon? 🤔
And I still have the things (toys, blankets, harness, leash, etc) that my friend gave me when they gave me Momo. Stuff that was never used by Momo. Even food and treats that are still good (unopened) I did not get around to donating them to the shelter
I'm so excited.....he said he would call before he brought the dog over....between 5 and 6 PM, and it is 3:30 now.....
Well, she was walking around for a while looking like a deer in the headlights! But I don't think "Bambi" is any good. 'Scairdey-Cat' would not really be appropriate! But, no Spice Girl names, no thank you!. So far I haven't come up with anything that strikes me, or that she likes. If she will look at me when I say it, at least I can get an idea of the vowel sounds to build around. Like when I got Moosie, he never paid attention until I said "MOOOOOO", and he liked cows, so he became Moosie Cowdog. Ozzie was named after Ozzie Osbourne because he was such a space cadet. (BUT did not bite off heads of ,,,,what?.... hens or bats?) Pippy became PIP because she was very little, black and white like dice are, and the white dots are called PIPs, ......and she could be a REAL PIP (in another definition of that word, entirely!) And, Fletcher, I got at what was called the town of Fletcher's Flea market. he was a very blase' boy cat.. And FANG was named after Phyllis Diller's husband.way back when, It was funny because he was part German Shepherd (dad) and part Beagle from his mom, and when we got him he was just a tiny pup, so naming him a vicious name like that made that funny. He was a very smart dog with a great and goofy sense of humor! (because my sister and younger brother and I got our sense of humor from my mom, and we raised him to be like us!)
Naming of my new dog is to be continued..... She has actually licked my hand twice and my arm twice! So like Sally Field, I exclaimed "She likes me! She really likes me!" But my Grampa had a dog named Sally, which was one of the reasons why the parents did NOT name me Sally!
I'm tired and we are in bed relaxing. I think her bedtime is usually earlier than mine, I turn my lights out at Two AM and that is an awful long time to expect a new dog to adapt to be a part-time night-owl like me,
Tawk whichooze tomorry! G'night!

NJ22 sounds like a nice day
Tweety that does sound like rather unbalanced
Stars I hope you do end up with the dog
Hi Dianah
Yesterday was pretty busy. Did some meal prep before church. In the afternoon went to the Botanic Gardens with my friend N. Were there for more than 2 hours, lots of walking. Was nice, hadn't been there in years. Rested the rest of the day
Today should be an ordinary day at work, no one off and no meetings that I know of. After work should be pretty ordinary too, just laundry and exercise
Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 80s
