Good morning
Stars, hope you have a restful and productive day.
Joe, all this time I thought you were a condo owner, not sure why.
Today will start a warming trend here too. Supposed to be in the upper 60s and be a really nice day. Will be in the 70's, close to 80 later in the week. Bring it on!
Didn't sleep well. Got up at 5:30 to feed the dogs as they were up. I wanted to get back to sleep but Slowbro would not settle down and was just walking around the bed in circles. After about 30 minutes I just got up and let him roam around the house.
Meeting with my financial advisor for our annual review of my retirement goals and plans. I had to up the amount of money I think I'll need in retirement because of insurance and will see how my large post-hurricane withdrawal of funds will affect me in the long run,
Woke up with a mild attitude, Decided it was more "important" to relax under the warm covers this morning and didn't get up until 11:30 AM! Thought I would watch the news at noon, but got sidetracked and didn't get to the TV until 12:30 PM. Who needs news? I looked here on line, so I got the info I 'need' on my laptop news-feed. Will have to send a message to my sister in Southern Maine to see if she felt any of the earthquake that happened in New England this morning. That story and the story about who pays inheritance taxes and all that crud, that I thought might apply to me (but, fortunately, it mostly doesn't apply to me)......when and if the occurrence ever comes about. I still think Nannie may live forever....
So, in 3 + 1/2 hours I can go get Nannie at daycare, The weather says 48 degrees, with rain predicted at two different times this afternoon. The humidity will be 91%. It is cloudy and I don't care; I just don't want a downpour to occur when I have to do the Nannie-Retrieval this afternoon.
I am waking up with a big cup of coffee, and have yet to feel the "Get Up And Do Something" urge. There is a tiny skosh of resentment bubbling below the surface. I am not a housewife, nor a character in one of those "Housewives" reality series. But when I win a big lottery or sweeps I will have one of the HGTV teams come and re-do the entire house so it doesn't feel like a conglomeration of little caves. You know, none of that "natural light" stuff is going on in these rooms!
I am wondering if I will be sitting here with a blank slate for a mind, when 4 PM rolls around, as that's when I have to leave to get Nannie.....or whether I will become entranced by one of my 'plans' to sort, clean, toss, donate....
I guess, for now, it will remain a mystery.
It's 49 degrees here and says it's sunny tho the last time I was outside it was quite overcast. And we're expecting rain a couple of days this week but the forecast for Sunday is 71 and sunny. Maybe that's when I should plan a visit to the zoo. I have a free admission ticket that expires at the end of February. And I like being there when it isn't 105 degrees.
Our mortgage payment is going up because we had an escrow shortfall last year. At the same time, the insurance company is returning part of our homeowner's premium for the year (I don't know why). I was afraid they were discontinuing our insurance when I read the letter I got, but called today and was assured that was not the case.
Before going home, I need to pick up cat meds and a couple of items from Walmart grocery that I couldn't find at the other grocery yesterday.
I think it got up to 40 here, and sunny. I went to the gym. I need to get there on a more regular basis. I did some house cleaning--finished folding clothes, put away some dishes, swept, vacuumed. I don't really enjoy it, but I like how it looks when I'm done. dh finally got the Christmas tree down. I stood by while dh called his new drug insurance company. They aren't going to pay for one of his meds until he gets preauthorization from his PCP. He's been on it for at least 5 years and gets good glucose control, so I hope he doesn't need to change it. They made it sound like it's not big deal.
This sort of thing irritates me when I hear people say Medicare is free. Uh, no. We've paid in for 40 years, and now we pay 3 premiums (B, G, D) and still pay thousands out of pocket. At least this year (so far) we will be capped at $2000 each, for drugs. Sigh.
A trip to the zoo sounds nice, and that seems like perfect weather for it.
My little dog, Jozee, has started standing in my chest in the morning until I get up. It's a little annoying, especially when I have a restless night.
I was hoping for a check from the insurance company. Perhaps tomorrow.

Tweety glad the new computer is working well
Stars I hope today proves productive for you
Dianah I made some muffins yesterday
Got to church early to help usher but didn't stay for the congregational meeting afterwards, which I tend to find pointless. Instead came home and did laundry, then baked muffins. Ran various errands later, for clothes and to the pet store and Hallmark for some cards. Exercised and relaxed the rest of the night.
Today will fast most of today in preparation for a lab draw and a doctor's appointment after work. Nothing else really planned except for work
Will be warmer today, up to the low 40s. Have to call the landlord again, now the heat seems to be stuck on and with warmer temps don't want it to get unpleasant in here
