Stars I hope that today's appointment ends with him going to inpatient rehab, given how everything else has failed so far

Ado if I remember correctly there is a 5 year look back on assets, and I think a home might be exempted

Tweety I'm glad none of the patients were too complex

Yesterday ended up being quite busy.  In the morning before church I made a side dish for the week

Then went to church early for training on how to be an usher, and stayed late to learn about some changes to the assisting  minister role

Then met J for lunch prior to the musical.  We saw the musical version of  Elf, the  cast was good but the story wasn't.  But had a nice time nonetheless.  J's procedure is tomorrow, he says he's not sure exactly what it is and hasn't yet been given any instructions on preparation, which suggests to me that it is minor.  He encouraged me to be patient with the counselor, so I'll wait a bit longer to hear back from her

Evening was quiet, exercise and Star Trek and some knitting

Today should be fairly ordinary.   After yesterday I'm looking forward to a quieter time next weekend

Will be in the upper 30s, warm for this  time of year

Good morning!

Joe, I hope you hear from the counselor.  Sounds like a good time.

I made a med error yesterday when I gave a patient clonazepam two hours early when she asked for it.  She was very anxious and kept pulling off her high flow oxygen and her sats were 70 when it was off.  It was ordered q8h PRN. It's not a med she's naive too but I was caught up in helping her and just miscalculated in my head.  I'm really bummed about it but it helped her rest and keep her oxygen on.

I was taking the dogs to their dental cleaning and was called on the road that it was canceled due to the vet calling off due to some personal situation.  As we were talking about rescheduling, she told me I was no longer covered by my monthly plan.  We discussed it would be an increase in monthly payment but perhaps the doctor may think given their age it's not worth the risks of anesthesia.  So I'll wait until their next checkup before deciding.  Glad it was canceled because I would have been given a big bill.

The PA OK'd my prescriptions for another 6 months and did some lab work. And I did get the bivalent Covid booster.

Last night was the first time I got a good look at the black cat's undercarriage and it appears he is a he. I had already come to the conclusion that he wasn't pregnant ?. He must have been just really thin from not having food and plumped up quickly when he started getting regular meals.

Ado, Glad your boy-cat isn't pregnant! // Didn't find any discarded pull-ups or pads this morning, but she did leave some urine soaked through all her bedding. Since I just washed all of it yesterday, I am being extremely slack today and only pulled apart the layers and turned the ceiling fan on high.

The doc said he hasn't heard from the referral for the alc-rehab place, yet. He called the drinking that hubby did on Saturday a "blip", so, he's going to continue on with the Ativan for now. Hubby is to take two of the 1 mg tabs q 8 hrs. ( I am still keeping the pills in my purse so I will dispense them.) He also has his Xanax back if he needs it for sleep. Ppffttt!  Next appt is on Thursday at 11:20 AM.

Hubby said he needs to go to the Verizon store to replace his smart-phone's otterbox. He has lost that phone out of his sweatpants pocket 3 times this weekend. Last night after 20 minutes of searching, he found it wedged between the front seat and cup holders in the Ford. Anyway, he said he didn't want me to think this trip to Verizon  was an excuse for him to be going to the liquor store. I told him that he was on the honor system and if he started drinking again, it was only himself he was hurting.

I'm glad you mentioned the 5-year assets, Joe, because I am going to start the search for the gazillion papers that will be needed if "we" ever manage to get a place for Nannie. Wish I could depend on hubby to help with this, but he is so forgetful and dopey-headed, I don't dare. It's bad enough I have to explain everything to Nannie, and with hubby on the same track it would irritate the beejeebers out of me.

After doc asked hubby if he'd had anything to drink, he said "no," and I said "yes." He thought I told the doc he went out Sunday AM for booze, and hubby said there was no way because the ABC store is closed on Sunday. "Well, I'm sorry you don't remember, but it was Saturday you started drinking again."  I don't know about Sunday, except that I did not give him ANY Ativan that day. I hope hubby can take this chance to avoid the hospital +/or rehab facility.

I dunno eenythang 'cept I am heartily sick and tired of all this *&9$7$#@&*!!

Yes, NoStars, you definitely need some professional advice. I know where we live the Senior Center can help with recommendations.
its just another gray, Ho hum day at work. I got my glasses adjusted on my lunch break. They have been giving me a head and nose ache.
I need to think about whether to continue to get vet care for my dog. Visits are really hard on him, so I think I will only take him for required shots, like rabies. I think he's due in March.
good news on the kitty, Ado!

Hello all!

No Stars, gotta hand it to Mr. Stars' MD, he is persistent and optimistic!  I hope you can find a CPA to help you navigate the house and financial stuff.

Ado, YES, good to hear your feline is a HE instead of a pregnant SHE!  Hope the Covid booster is easy on you, without severe long-lasting side effects.

nursej22, hope your glasses are now adjusted correctly, so you don't get H/A's from them.  Now, how many days till you retire???  (not that you're counting...)

Joe, too bad the musical was disappointing.  Good the actors were enthusiastic and did their part, though!  And, good you got together with J.

Tweety, did your dog medical plans change, so that all of a sudden their cleanings aren't covered??  At least they caught you before you got all the way out there.  And your dogs were VERY pleased to just get a short car ride, and then FOOD!!  Sometimes a med error, as in this case, turns out to be a good thing.  She was able to relax and keep her O2 on is a WIN, in my opinion.

We had a quiet Saturday, with some rain.  It cleared Sunday, and in the afternoon we drove out to the high desert for band practice.  There were some fluffy clouds, and some gathering on the horizon, but seeing fresh snow in the mountains as we went over "the pass," was beautiful!  We had a good practice and then went out for sushi, then returned and watched The Chosen Season 3, Episodes 1 and 2.  It was SO GOOD!  Dh and I just watched Episode 5 today, but our bass player hadn't seen the first few of Season 3, so we re-watched them there.  We got home at 10:30, and I had a restless sleep.  I hope I sleep better tonight.

I need to go get groceries either this afternoon or tomorrow.  Rain is expected tonight and heavy rain tomorrow, clearing for the rest of the week.  Lakes and reservoirs are filling up, finally!  Skiers at Mammoth Mountain are pleased, with over 10 feet of snow there!  Tahoe and the Sierras are reporting 2-3X their previous yearly levels.  I hope this all translates to good ground water and reservoirs.

Have a good afternoon and evening!
