Hubby says his stomach feels better today, after bothering him last night until about 5 AM. He thinks it is the burrito and/or chili and/or anything with tomato sauce that is spicy. But does that stop him from eating those kinds of things? Not very often.
Got Nannie up, changed her clothes; I am airing out her bedroom and spread the sheets and blankets to air out, also, under the ceiling fan set on high. Not going to wash her bed-linens every single day, as *I* am the only "laundry service" here.
Both of them are doing their usual siesta. I could say they were boring, but sometimes when they ARE talking (ie not napping) they are boring, too.
I never did clean up the patio of the fallen birdseed. Maybe I'll go out and do it now, just to be doing SOMETHING! Not that there aren't at least 2 dozen other things I could do, but I am burned-out by the possibilities that NEED doing. And I am tired of being the only one to try to ARRANGE things....that don't get done; for instance, all the detox business. As Charlie Brown would say: "BLEARGH!"
TO THE BIRDS!
Happy birds flocked in after I got through sweeping and distributing the birdseed. Even the big woodpecker is visiting. Guess there aren't too many bugs under the tree's bark, so they will come and eat the birdseed instead.
60 degrees and sunny, warm breezes. Getting close to the suppertime question, but I solved that earlier. Don't know WHAT hubby will feel like eating. He was eating chips and crackers a short while ago. Nannie is getting leftover pizza for supper. She had a "biggish" lunch. And me? I dunno, I had a cup of coffee earlier, and I'll find something to eat later, as there is plenty up there in the kitchen.
Will this day never end? I am at work and I'm trying to leave stuff for the newer coworker to do so that it becomes easier to remember. But that makes my day drag. Another gray day with some showers. I miss the sun! I made Mac n cheese for dinner last night, and everything bagel seasoning sounds like a wonderful topping for it. Oops, phone ringing , later.
Youngest ds called to talk about his first day at work which seemed to go well. There is confusion about his driving license. He has a class A CDL which is for driving a semi, but he needs a class B, to drive passengers.
Yes Joe, you seem to enjoy being active. I suppose you got your router issue fixed.
Tweety, glad you got your phone back. I am lost without mine.
I've been slowly going through my desk, sorting out papers I've kept. Sort of like looking at old photos. Lots of stuff is soon to be obsolete with the electronic medical record. And I tossed a lot when we moved last fall.
Hello, hello!
Dh and I have been getting used to our new earbuds. I got a new TOZO A1 (recommended by oldest ds), which arrived today. And dh got my "old" Motorola one. So we are both on a learning curve, testing things out. "OK, I'm going to call you." "OK, now I'm going to call YOU!" Etc.
We had some leftovers for a late lunch, then I made a call re: a second festival we wanted to attend, up north. Well, apparently there are no plans for that second festival. So dh and I decided to just do our usual: attend the Grass Valley Father's Day Festival, then drive down to Coleville (Meadowcliff Resort) for one night (I can do laundry there), then drive down 395 to Mammoth Lakes, to the campground there for 3 nites, then on to Lone Pine for one night, before heading home.
Anyway, I have been online making reservations for all those places.
Also, have been enjoying reading about Molly Tuttle's Grammy win, as well as Bonnie Raitt's. So happy for folks who won!
Not much else going on here. I have one more reservation to make, so will do that now.
Agree, Tweety, good you found your phone! I use mine a lot. Guess I need some sort of intervention, to cut the psychological ties... ?
Have a good evening!
Nannie is p.o'd because she keeps speaking in her soprano whisper and we can't understand what she is saying. She has been told repeatedly that if she is wanting to talk to us she needs to use her LOUDER voice. She cleared her throat and said, "I SAID...." and then she repeated what she had said in the exact same whispering, gargling, baby-voice. Hubby said "YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO SPEAK MORE CLEARLY IF YOU WANT TO BE HEARD"...........At which point she shut her mouth and hasn't opened it since! Whoa! Who knew?
Another pretty day here, high of about 68. I bought tickets so the boys and I can see Jesus Christ Superstar in OKC. It is the 50-year anniversary tour. Then I noticed they'll be doing Hamilton later this season. And Ain't Misbehavin'.
I'm glad to hear about Bonnie Raitt's award.
Sobered by the news of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
I'm way too addicted to my phone at this point. I left it in the car when I went in the bowling alley and went back after it in my socks so I could have it for the two hours I'd be at bowling. I texted with a friend and checked out facebook during bowling. Most everyone around me was on their phone at one time or another and we're not young people.
Speaking of phones I used it to track the refrigerator guy starting around 11:00 and it said he'd be here at 1:00, then 1:59, then 2:30 and then finally 3:30. He got the issue fixed which makes me wonder if the last time it leaked air like this a few months ago that guy resolved the issue properly. Anyway, it's fixed.
I did do the required work training on a cardiology. It was three lessons on CHF, A-Fib, and CAD. Since I was on a roll, I completed 10 CEUs and am ready to renew my license in April of this year. I got one of those "all the CEUs you can do in a year" packages for $85. I'll do more later as I need 150 CEUs to renew my Med-Surg Certification in a couple of years. Probably the last time I'll be doing that.
Bowling was fun but we won only one game against the first place team that are extremely good bowlers. Happy to win one against them.
I enjoyed watching the winners on YouTube of the Grammies as I'm a music geek. Love the "Best New Artist" Samara Joy. Loved seeing Harry Styles and Lizzo win, but the highlight for me was Bonnie Raitt winning best Song. A major award for someone that isn't heard on the radio anymore except for her 80's and 90's stuff. Love her. It was cool that First Lady Dr. Biden gave her the award.

Stars that seems like a good idea, hopefully inpatient detox will work out but if not at least you have an alternate
NJ22 that is cool that you're studying for new field as you're about to retire
Tweety glad you found your phone and got no admissions
Dianah that sounds like an interesting recipe
Ado that sounds like pleasant weather for this time of year
Quieter day yesterday. Went to church early for adult education, then the service and coffee hour. Ran some errands then came home and made soup. Exercised and did some training videos required for some church volunteers. Funny how whenever I have a slow day I try and find things to do
Do like to drive around a bit on Sundays, since they tend to be slower days. Not driving as much since bird watching is on hiatus
Hoping for a more normal week at work, with no technical issues or anything unexpected
Think it will be up to 40 today, and for the next few days
