Stars hope things are quieter with her today

Dianah glad you had time yesterday after a very busy Sat

Ado sounds like a busy day

Tweety hope today was a better day at work

Went out bird watching in the morning, didn't see much as it was quite foggy though warmer than usual for this time of year

Then drove to meet for coffee with the over 50 group.  This time we actually had another person, not just me and the organizer.

After that I went home and did the cooking for the week, which took longer than expected but I think it turned out pretty good. Also changed my shopping list for this week around, going to make something simple for next week given how busy things will be

Today should be a pretty ordinary day, as far as I know nothing unusual going on

Going to be quite warm today, in the lower 50s, supposed to be rather foggy again

Good morning.

Stars, hope things work out at the day care.

Joe, hope you have a good Monday.

Not much going on today.  Have a potluck at tonight's bowling as it's our last night.  We're not placing very high this season but had low key fun.

Also have a potluck at work on Thursday so I hope I remember.

Okay, okay, I'm 'awake'! SiL had to text me from the back yard to unlock the back door. Now I am guzzling coffee. I guess we will leave for the daycare place in about an hour. Not quite sure what I will do with the afternoon hours before I go back to pick Nannie up. I think I might go out to the KIA dealership to get the dern low-tire light taken care of. I do know I will prolly go back to the area of the daycare before it starts getting dark so I don't get lost; this place after dark is hard for me to find my way around. I just have to remember NO SHORTCUTS, and no thinking one road SHOULD lead to another, because it probably DOESN'T. But at least I will try to do a pick-up for take-out supper somewhere on the way home.

Anyway, I'll let you know, later, no doubt, how things went for Nannie (and me!)

Nannie's new day care place seems very nice. Did not see any seniors there yet, as they have just opened a short while ago. I followed SiL and it was an easy place to find. I liked the two people that work there, who we met this afternoon. SiL stayed a little while longer than I did, but haven't talked to her yet.

I went to the dealership to have my tires checked, it was the rear passenger side tire that was low; just a slow, slow tiny leak somewhere. It'll probably be fine until I can get 4 new tires, whenever that will be!

I went in search of the wall calendars I ALWAYS get at Walmart, but they had NONE in the three Walmarts I checked at. I also went to JC Penney's and Belk's to look for turtleneck jerseys....but there were NONE! I can't imagine no turtlenecks available before Xmas. I didn't want one with a zipper, or a really thick sweater, but that's all that was available. Weird! I can still look at a few other stores, and there's always catalogs, I guess, but I certainly was expecting to find a FEW turtlenecks, at least! Oh well!

I reckon SiL will come by and get Nannie up and out the door on Wednesday. The woman at the daycare said SiL had mentioned Monday and Wednesday to her, as the days Nannie would be attending there. Okay by me. We will have Chatty CG on Thursdays until after the holidays, I guess. I think we should keep her every Thursday regardless of the cost ($75 for 6 hours) But that is up to BiL because he handles her money. I don't know if I will have to be picking Nannie up from the daycare both days, but I suspect I will be the one doing that. Bleh. We'll see.

Cold and wet day. When I walked the dogs I didn't wear gloves and regretted it. I had a meeting to prep to be a mentor for the Master Gardener class. Dh will be in the class as a student.
I looked at airline tickets for our upcoming trip to Brussels and Holland in the Spring. Wow, but this will the trip of a lifetime.
I ordered a gift for eldest son and DIL. Dh wanted to find it locally, but I compromised by having it sent to a local store. It's really hard to find things locally.

nursej22, how exciting, for a trip to Brussels and Holland!!  I hope your hands warmed up.  When I get chilled, it seems to take a few hours to warm up afterwards.

No Stars, whoa, TWO afternoons per week is better than none!  I hope it all works out (transporting and Nannie's reaction to the place).  As it is a new-to-her place, perhaps she will be on her best behavior?  Strange that you were unable to find turtlenecks, it being wintertime!!  I hope you can locate some.

I cleaned bathrooms, and later baked half a batch of the spice cookies.  The two events are truly UN-related, LOL!  Dh is very grateful for the cookies!!  Youngest ds and dil called, they have tickets to fly out in early January, so YAY!!  We will arrange time to visit with them, between their visits with other SoCal friends.

Have a good evening!

I do hope this turns out to be a win all around for Nannie and for you, Stars.

I binged some episodes of Call the Midwife. The season I'm currently watching is 1963 and President Kennedy has just died. Of course, they're in London, but it is big news.

I like the Mexican hot chocolate cookies. Hubs, on the other hand, can't imagine ruining a good chocolate cookie by putting pepper in it.
