Quieter day yesterday.  Did get out before church but didn't really see any birds.  Still trying to figure out all of the functions of the new camera

Went to church then did the cooking.  A salmon dish I had prepared previously but hadn't turned out that good, I'm hoping it will be better this time with fresh salmon.  Ran a few errands and watched The Crown.  A friend from church gave me some moonshine she made, tastes good but is very strong

Hoping for a decent day at work today, no one should be off.  Will call the car alarm place to see about getting one installed

Cold and windy today in the mid 30s although at least there will be no rain

Joe, hope you have a good day at work.

It's a bit cloudy and chilly and windy out.  But at 60 degrees we are one of the warm spots in the country.  Supposed to hopefully be sunny tomorrow.  Would be nice as it's been cloudy for days.

I got up around 3AM after going to bed at midnight and couldn't fall back asleep.  So sometime after 4AM I got up and did some laundry and made a tofu dish.  I have to take Slowbro to his eye appointment and if I didn't need more drops I would go back to bed and cancel the appointment.  BP is 138/81 which seems to be my normal so at least it's not up from lack of sleep.  Same old post, different day.  LOL

Nannie stayed up and watched the whole movie (Sound of Music) but more than a few times she had no idea what was going on or being said; Then she would explain to me what was going on, with "that guy" or "she" and I had to explain otherwise to her during the commercials which she thought were also part of the movie. I have noticed she is getting much more hard of hearing, and as far as comprehension, she looks blankly at me after I've made a comment....I say, "Do you understand what I just said?" and she says, "no" so I say it again, but more slowly and, of course, much louder. When I finally put her to bed, she said how VERY tired she was. I told her that for the last three nights she has stayed up until 11 PM, and tonight, regardless of what is on TV or how she feels she wants to continue to stay up, bedtime will be 10 PM, PERIOD!

Today, I woke up because Momo was walking all over me and licking at my neck and face and hands. SHE knew it was noontime and time to get up!

Just as I sat down on the sofa and picked up my coffee cup, Nannie came out of her bedroom. She had removed her pull-ups and pads, and for once they were deposited all in the same spot. Notice I didn't say in the wastebasket. Anyway, she had then put on two pj bottoms and no absorbent anything. She had made her bed....quite cleverly laying two pair of socks, stretched out to cover the wet spot (to dry it up, I suppose), and then pulled up the bedspread to cover them. smh.

I have heard 4 remarks in 15 minutes about the sunshine being SO bright. But, now she is resting with her eyes closed and doing her invisible sewing. ?

Though one forecast showed it was going to be mostly cloudy, beside the little drawing of the sun, mostly covered up with clouds, the WORDS said "Clear, with a high of 57 degrees, and very windy." Those weather people are a confused bunch! And Nannie is a "confused bunch of people", too! ?

Last night when SiL phoned me to say she'd come over tomorrow afternoon (3-ish, after she gets off work), "if that's okay with you." What? I'm gonna say no to that? Nannie heard SiL's voice and asked who I was talking to, I said I was talking to her other dgt-in-law, but Nannie seemed to think it was a man on the phone. Well, SiL's voice is quite deep, like the long-term smoker she is, and she also speaks so fast, sometimes it's hard to make out what she's saying,

BiL is doing much better, but I don't think he should be doing anything requiring strength. I hope  nobody comes over today, but I wouldn't mind having that large trash container dropped off into the back yard....but out of Nannie's line of vision, of course. Otherwise, there would be endless complaints about "that big thing" and what is it doing in her yard? I do like throwing things away; I want to get them all OUT of the house, and not have to transfer it all to another spot elsewhere in the house, to sit there until it can be tossed. Kind of running out of spaces to put it all. But, it'll happen when it happens, and meanwhile I do have other things to do, like 3 days worth of dishes in the sink. And if I can summon spit to do this, I'd like to finally empty the refrigerator and clean up all of hubby's old spills in and around it, so it doesn't look like such a horror any more!

The Adventure continues....

Hey, all. Overcast day, sprinkles forecast, cool in the mid 40s. As I suspected the family expects Christmas dinner will be at our house. Blergh. I hope no one is expecting festive decorations, because I am not inclined to do anymore than the few ornaments I've put on the tree. dh set out the blow-up ornaments out in the yard, that didn't get ruined by weather, last year. I am supposed to make cookies this week, and dh has drawn up a list of people to give them too, and it keeps growing. Taking sis to Seattle tomorrow for her post-op visit, so I will start baking when I get home from that. We went to see The Boys in the Boat last night. I was a little disappointed in  the flow or editing. It seemed a little choppy.

I was up in the night, from 3 til 4. Just couldn't get comfortable. I took some tylenol and motrin, and once that kicked in, I went back to bed, but dogs wouldn't let me sleep past 7.

I got notice to renew my nursing license, and it hit me, that I don't really need it anymore. I've had a license since 1986. I could do "retired, active" but I would still need 24 clinical hours. So I guess I'll choose, "inactive" just cuz I'm not ready to let it all go. Weird.

That looks like a nice camera, Joe. Years ago when I was first on my own I got interested in photography and bought a Canon AE-1 that I really enjoyed using and experimenting with. Of course, that was in the days when you had to take film in to be developed, of all things! ? That camera is still around somewhere but last I knew the shutter wouldn't work. I don't know whether to throw it away or try to find some old camera buff that would want it. The lenses I bought for it work with my new camera:

A few years ago while working at the big hospital I got a digital SLR (Canon EOS) -- through overtime points -- that I never devoted the time to really learning how to use. Twin A has used it a lot more than I have.

I spent over six hours at the emergency vet with Toby.  We suspected a UTI, which (after $$$$ exam, labs, eval)was confirmed.  Hope he feels better soon.  He was just off his feed, and not himself.  We thought it was thyroid-related, but after a few days suspected the other.  I am tired.  Waiting is tiring (and it was cold in the waiting room).

That's it from here!

Have a good evening.

Oh no.  Hope Toby makes a quick recovery.
